5'8" 155lbs size 31 waist. Size medium is just right. Riding in these for the past month. About 10-12 rides. They are quite comfortable on my 1-2 hour rides. Haven't fallen yet so I can't comment on the protection. They appear well made, re stitching and materials used. I'm quite happy so far with my purchase. It's nice to have a short that has both a chamois liner as well as the padding for other areas. I bought these after a fall that bruised my tail bone pretty badly.
