Venga Climbing Shoe
If your youngster likes to pretend he's a monkey and has already mastered the art of climbing trees and jungle gyms, you should consider letting him take out his rambunctious energy on rock faces and walls. The Evolv Kids' Venga Climbing Shoe is a great first rock climbing shoe for your child so he can begin to develop his rock climbing skills with the security of a specialized shoe. The high friction Trax rubber outsole provides great grip, and the asymmetrical toe profile that follows the natural anatomy of the foot (with the longest point at the big toe) offers a comfortable fit. The flexible upper allows the foot to freely move, and perforations in the upper, along with a breathable mesh tongue, keep feet cool. Because your little monkey is getting bigger every year, the shoe has an adjustable heel strap that increases the shoe by one full size to allow growing room. The hook-and-loop closure makes it easy for him to put on the shoe if he hasn't mastered laces yet.

Sizing is Way Off

- I returned this product before using it
Ordered these in a size 11 for a 5 year old that typically wears a size 10. They were so small that they wouldn't even fit on his foot. His little sister wears the La Sportiva Stickit FriXion in a size 26/27 (US 9/10) and these were noticeably smaller than those, despite being labeled a size larger. I'd recommend sizing up at least 2 sizes, maybe even 3. They do seem like they'd be comfortable if you can get the correct size, though I prefer the closure system of the La Sportivas.
