Best piece of gear for winter
- Familiarity:

Amazing shoe for winter riding. I was using regular carbon road shoes with wool socks and overshoes before. I could only make it two hours before my toes were numb. With these shoes, I don't even think about cold toes riding for 3-4 hours with temps around freezing. Best winter gear I have bought. The sizing was accurate compared to other shoes. Size up if in-between so you can wear winter socks.

Great Vold Weather Shoe
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I am very prone to having cold fingers and toes. These shoes are very warm. If it gets too cold, I wear a bootie over them.

Portland-Proven Winter Shoes

I was a bit put off by reading the reviews on the former iteration of the Artica shoes, but thought I'd give these a try and return them if they didn't live up to expectations. Riding in the rain is just a fact of life if you live in the PNW and want to commute or just get some outdoor miles in between October and April. These do great in the rain. Never had a drop of rain enter them when paired with the Assos Bonka tights with the neoprene leg sleeves that fit nicely over the tops of these shoes. As for the cold, I am a complete wimp when it comes to cold. I wear tights and long sleeves until about 78 degrees. I have never been cold in these shoes at all. They are very impressive in their ability to keep my feet warm. Never tried them with booties, but I have to imagine you'd stay really toasty with the combo. All in all, these are a complete win. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Decent winter shoe,disappointing in rain

Stiff enough soles for winter use. Single boa again good enough for intended use. Wore these on days down into single digits (F) with a tie warmer inside. No issues with cold toes and light wool socks. They are waterproof but when water starts running down your tights into the shoe it now has no way of getting out and your feet are now sitting in a little pool. Even with waterproof covers it’s an issue to keep in mind. Poured out half a cup of foot flavored water after a ride today. Very uncomfortable few hours in the rain.

I love these boots. I live in Olympia WA, so I ride in the rain a lot. I finally bought myself a pair of these, and oh! what a difference. A couple of things: - They do not seem to me to be much warmer than my summer shoes and a booty. What they are is totally dry. I am absolutely positive that I could stand in 3" of water for an hour without getting so much as damp. - They are road shoes: They don't have any tread and the sole is quite stiff. I stick to roads and don't dismount much, myself, so I can't say for sure. I bet, though, they wouldn't be great in the mud. - My summer shoes are 42s. I bought these in 43.5 to leave room for socks. The fit is slightly looser than the summer shoes, which is perfect for improved winter circulation. Sick of coming home with cold wet toes. Do yourself a favor!

Great winter shoes, but run small
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought these for my partner and he loves them for riding in 38-45 degree weather(s). They tend to run small compared to other Fizik shoes, size up at least a half size.. especially considering that winter socks are generally a tad bit thicker.
