These socks are thick like slippers! I wear regular hiking Smartwool or Darn Tough wool socks for backpacking/hiking and as soon as I finish setting camp, I wash and dry my feet and slip these on. They are the perfect camp socks, almost like wearing slippers and very comfortable to sleep in as well. You aren't going to attract a mate wearing these bad boys, though. In fact, around my house, they are referred to as my "birth control socks" by my wife. If you need comfy warm socks to wear around camp with lots of cushion, these are it!

Third pair of logger socks I've had, but I am a long time Filson fan, and logger socks are a good example. I absolutely love the cushion and quality of these socks. Everyone has their own foot quirks, but for me: no better. They last about 2 years with hard use, have incredible cushion, perform like only wool can. I went with large. I found the extra large size too big for my lower volume but still size 14 /48 foot, but size large was perfect. I use mine in everything: ski, hiking, climbing, work boots. Love 'em. Love gifting them to my mountain fanatic sons.
