Why We Like The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe
Whether we are hitting the jump lines or just cruising around, having mountain bike-specific shoes makes a huge difference. The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe is one of our top choices when we need a no-nonsense mountain bike shoe that has all the necessary features. An impact-resistant toebox protects our feet from rock strikes, and a molded EVA midsole absorbs energy from hard landings. The synthetic upper is super durable, quick-drying, and abrasion-resistant, and a lace closure ensures we get the perfect fit every time. To stay locked into the pedals, Five Ten used their signature Stealth S1 Dotty rubber outsole to provide us an excellent grip with platform pedals, and a durable rubber compound stands up to the wear and tear of pedal pins. Finally, an Ortholite sock liner and footbed keep us comfortable all ride long.

Great shoe for flat pedals
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to switch to flat pedals and a friend recommended Five Ten shoes and the Freerider Pro in particular. I'm glad I took her advice. The soles really are sticky as others have mentioned and it's a firm/stiff sole making them work well for longer rides.

Best shoe for technical downhill riders
Grippy, stiffer sole mix for much better connection to the pedal.

Good looking shoe with great grip and a stiff sole
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for an extra stiff flat shoe to aid in climbing and this shoe seems to work well. Not only pretty stiff but sticks to the pedals very well. I dont think there is a stiffer flat shoe out there, and I am happy with the Freerider Pros all around goodness. Fit is also where it should be. If you are in between sizes, I would size up a half size to be safe.

Great flat pedal shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very solid flat shoe. Warm in the winter acceptable in the summer. Engages with the pedals super well. These are my third pair in 8 years.

My go to shoe for flats
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this shoe EXCEPT that the tongue always goes towards the outside of the shoe. Big toe box is a plus as is the rigidity of what's beneath my foot - helps on bigger drops. If it helps, I'm on the big side at like 6-6 and 245-250 riding weight. Comes in larger sizes is another plus.
