Good Investment
Beautiful, classic investment piece. Striking pattern and colors (I bought the navy). Very warm. I expect to be enjoying this lovely sweater for years to come.

Fit weird, bad return experience

Super uncomfortable. I’m athletic and this fit everywhere except the armpits and across the shoulders. Scratchy material but to be expected with wool. Otherwise beautiful sweater. Tried to use discount multiple times with Id.me, code wouldn’t work I think maybe because product was already marked down? Don’t know , now I’m stuck where I can’t use discount, if I go to Id.me to generate a new code it says I need to use the previously issued code that wasn’t use, if I try to use previous code, Backcountry says code already used. I returned the sweater and used PayPal and never received anything from PayPal that backcountry initiated the refund (PayPal in the past with other companies has always processed returns immediately.) it’s been 5 days, tried to chat with someone, it wouldn’t connect me with a person…they don’t give you details when return is complete. Just says return is complete and doesn’t tell you to expect refund or store credit or you’re sol or anything. Not a very good experience shopping this website.

Declining knit quality
I bought this sweater less than three months ago and there is already a hole under the left arm. This is my third sweater from here. The first one (on right side of picture) i ordered about five years ago and i was VERY happy with it. Im willing to pay for quality but i rodered one last year and after a few months a hole started under the arm. I chalked it up as maybe needing a bigger size. Even though it fits perfect and there’s a but of stretch to it. So this year i ordered a size bigger. Its a bit baggy but i wear it prediminantly for warmth not fashion. Sure enough, a hole starts under the arm, less than three months in. Im very disappointed. The knit quality seems to be declining and sadly i can’t afford to take any chances to pay this kind of money for a sweater that only lasts a few wears.

Descreasing quality
I bought this less than three minths ago and i’ve worn it a handful or times and theres already a small hole starting under the arm where all the seams meet. This happened with my last one too but not as quickly so I thiught maybe i should have ordered a sixe bigger and maybe it was a big too small and was pulling. So this year I ordered a size bigger. Even thiugh i’ve even lost a few poinds. Now its loose abd STILL a hole. Inpulled out a third one that I bought a few years ago and the knit wuality is like night and day. Yes that one has worn down under the arms too. Not sure why only there (probably the wool on the arms rubbing when they move) but that first. Sweater lasted me probably five years before it got so worn that I couldnt wear it. Seeater #2 from last year lasted me one season and this one got a hole started in less than wears. Pretty frustrating because I am wilking to PAY for QUALITY and i love these sweaters but sadly I’m not able to spemd that kind of money again for only a few wears.

I'm 5'9, 155lb, frequent crossfit. I ordered a medium based on the size chart, the fit was terrible for my body type, elbow pads were far to high, no space for shoulders :( if you have any type of muscle, I would pass... I love the design so much and hope they are able to be inclusive of a more active body someday. I have loved this company in the past.

Lovely
I bought this sweater in Arctic Green size XL. It was true to size and so beautiful. I got compliments on it the first time I wore it. It is a little itchy but works well with a long sleeve shirt beneath it.

Beautiful but itchy

High quality, beautiful sweater. Only complaint is it's definitely scratchy - needed to wear a shirt underneath. Does run slightly large - I ordered the small (usually size 4 / 34C chest) and it fit but was roomy, size down if you want a slimmer fit.
