Why We Like The Skogso Padded Jacket
The Skogso Padded Jacket is one of the lighter insulators in Fjallraven's massive collection of winter jackets, making it more suitable for the shoulder seasons as well as winter. Its G-Loft Supreme insulation is still plenty warm in snowy weather, and it stays warm even if it happens to get wet, which would be difficult considering the waxed shell beads moisture from rain and snow right off the fabric. The best part of waxed shells is that we can reapply Greenland Wax to the fabric for long-lasting weather protection.

A great functional jacket!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Large (5'10" 180lbs)
I'm very happy with this jacket. The insulation has worked very well for me on the eastern side of the Cascades. We get cold, down to 0, but mostly in the 20's and 30's. This is a great functional jacket for commuting, hikes out doing photography, and just wandering around the neighborhood. The material, after 3 months of use, looks like it hasn't even been worn. Very durable, but this is a bit heavier. As Fjallraven has in their mission statement, this is more for the everyday person who isn't doing anything extreme. While I do have a couple jackets for more extreme sports, this one is great for the rest of my life and I would highly recommend it.

Amazing jacket!
I have had this Jacket for now the 3rd winter and my wife has the female counterpart we love the jacket. It is exceptionally warm and as it stops the wind and and does resist moisture. I have worn this jacket in -40 wind chills and dont feel a thing. I recommend whenever possible!

Great warm jacket without being baggy
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Small
I finally bought this Fjallraven jacket I was looking for since a few. I have used it twice, so it's just an initial review. I really like the external material, it feels durable but it's not stiff. The best part is that is warm without being baggy. I really liked all the colors but I decided for the grey one and I have to say you can still use it with a more "classic" clothing style without looking too sporty. A lot of nice and big pockets. I didn't experience any issues with the zip: it does look downsized tho, I'll try to be carefull with it.

Zipper and black
Be careful putting your arms into the unzipped pockets. The coat is perfect but the zippers are like little files that tear apart that delicate g1000 fabric. I used iron on fabric to repair the hole. Also the red color i got shows off dirt and dark stuff. Get black for sure.

Superb for Damp, Cold and Windy Wales.
This jacket was bought gor me as a gift about a month ago and I think I've worn it every day since, through November into December, in a wet and Stormy Wales. The medium fits my 5'11" frame perfectly. Warmth isn't an issue. I've worn the jacket with only a t shirt beneath, in windy, freezing temps, with no issue at all. Lots of handy pockets and a hood that works best with a hat worn beneath. Regarding rain. I'm not going to wear the jacket for prolonged rain. But for showers or drizzle my unwaxed jacket works just fine. For the time being I'm not going to wax it, as I like the way the jacket looks and I don't want to change that. So a superb jacket for cold, windy, damp days. I love it.

Love this jacket
Had mine for over 14 months now and I really don’t like taking it off. It’s one of the warmest jackets I’ve ever had and definitely the comfiest, it’s like a sleeping bag. I had flu this winter and it was the only jacket I wanted to wear when going out… There’s plenty pockets including hidden ones and most of them are zipped apart from the big inside ones which are really handy. The jacket is super adjustable especially round the head. I wasn’t looking for a completely waterproof jacket but it is showerproof … Never tested it in pouring rain (I love it too much) but even when it’s been raining the jacket stays super warm and doesn’t take long to dry out. This was the first Fjalraven product I’d owned and it’s definitely turned my attention to the brand. I love this coat so much I’m thinking of buying one in a different colour so that people don’t think I just own one coat. I have lots of designer jackets and coats that probably will catch people’s attention more but this is my ‘go to’, when the temperature drops.

Nice jacket
Very nice quality jacket. Read negative reviews about the zipper but have not had a problem with it personally. Warm enough for 95% of winter days.

Extremely Durable and Functional
I'm very pleased with everything about this jacket. The quality and durability are excellent and I'm baffled by the reviews stating the zipper is of poor quality. My jacket is extremely well-built and there are no quality control issues. In fact, it's the opposite; this thing is built like a tank and I expect it will last for decades. I'm 5'10" and 165 with a muscular build and the medium fits great. I think the only thing that would change is to make the hood a little smaller since this jacket really isn't designed to be worn with the hood over a helmet. You can sinch the hood down to a snug fit, which is critical for me in a jacket, but if not tightened down, I would describe it as a helmet compatible hood given how large it is. The pockets are numerous and well-placed and the bottom draw string is also a critical included feature which keeps drafts out. This jacket is very warm and really blocks the wind. I feel protected when I wear it and am bummed that it's already spring time! Overall, I highly recommend this extremely well-crafted piece and I'm looking forward to years of use!

Got it a month ago (on sale). waxed Dark Green, size M. I'm 5'7+, 170 - thicker athletic build, 41/32. Fjallraven's sizing isn't ideal for me, but the Jacket fits great - a touch tight in lats, but still allows for layering, slightly long for me, but so is everything. The functionality of this jacket is second to NONE. The pockets are spectacular (hand pockets, two exterior chest, and TWO interior chest with zippers, and two hat/glove pockets - perfection). The hood has great adjustability. Velcro cuffs are easy to adjust. Zero issue with the two-way European Zipper - does not feel cheap. I do have the Singi in size M, and that thing is massive.
