Awesome bag! Not perfect
Overall, I really like this bag! I own many backpacks from premium makers, most of which have more features but are also 2-3 times as expensive. First of all, for me this bag is incredibly comfortable. It fits my 5' 10" medium build very well and it carries the weight extremely well. The dark gray color is awesome! The look and appearance of the bag is sleek and clean. Most bags are either to tactical or have to many pockets and bulk, but this one is very streamlined and minimalist in appearance which I love. The size is perfect, fits a 15" laptop no problem plus just enough accessories for a daily office bag. My few criticism of this pack are very nit picky but here they are. 1. Chest strap is unnecessary in a pack of this size and style. To make it worse it is not removable so I cut it off but it leaves small plastic loops on the shoulder straps permanently. 2. For a bag of this style there should be a pocket in the lid. This is pretty much a standard feature now in this style. Either hidden on the inside or accessible externally with a zipper hidden discreetly near the main compartment zipper. 3. Internal organization and pockets are seriously lacking. Most modern bags have multiple inner pockets for organization. This has one small mesh pocket in the main compartment and then the front exterior pocket. The designers need to look at some other premium brands and see what others are doing because this bag is significantly behind the competition in this aspect. 4. There should be elastic strap keepers for the main straps. They include them on the side compression straps, why not on the main shoulder straps? 5. Lastly, this is super nitpicky but the water bottle pocket is seriously lacking. It's slightly to short, it should have some kind of grippy material on the inside lip to prevent a water bottle sliding out so easily and possibly an additional tensioner. My water bottle fell out and broke the second time I used the bag and I bought a 32oz nalgene to replace it. Even a 32oz nalgene slides right out as well just taking the bag in and out of the car or putting it under an airplane seat. This may all sound bad, but I still do really like this bag and use it all the time. I'd have no issues recommending this bag to anyone. Just understand it isn't perfect.

Wins over Raven 20 if Xtra organisation not needed
I currently own a Raven 20, Raven 28 and Kanken No. 2 laptop 15, and just added the Ulvo 23 to my collection. Intended use: commuting to the office and gym and as personal item on long haul flights. I love how sleek the Ulvo looks and its minimalistic organisation. I don’t always need all the pockets the Raven has and the result is that the Ulvo 23 is lighter than the Raven 20. Not having so many compartments and pockets also means that its main compartment is also more spacious than the Raven 20’s, so it’s good for bulkier items. The laptop protection is better in the Ulvo 23; the laptop sleeve in the Raven 20 is barely elevated. The shoulder straps on the Ulvo 23 are softer than the Raven’s but equally padded and come with sternum straps which the Raven does not. That said, if you have broader shoulders, the Ulvo 23 may not fit you well. The water bottle pockets are more elastic than the Raven’s and I’ve no problem fitting in my 400ML Nalgene and getting it to stay there. Compression straps cinch down a taller water bottle or other long equipment or the bag when it’s not packed out. The Raven could benefit from them. I love the vertical side pocket which is large enough for me to fit lanyard, key pouch and wallet. I prefer the Raven’s front slanted- horizontal pocket but the Ulvo 23’s execution is more seamless. I do not love how hard it is to access the main compartment but this means my things are more secure. In short: the Ulvo 23 is an upgrade over my Raven 20. But if you need or appreciate the extra organisation, go with the Raven (either size is good; I’ve only compared the Ulvo 23 to the Raven 20 because they are closer in capacity). What I would love to see: an additional zippered pocket for tech like a phone charging cable or a mouse, and more colours like dark red, brown, Blackberry.

LOVE this backpack
I was searching for a backpack that would work for a longer commute on public transit in Seattle. I needed it to fit a large laptop and be waterproof, and this pack is absolutely perfect. It is sturdy enough to fit a lot of stuff (lunch bag, extra shoes, etc.) and also look sleek and not too "sporty". The pockets are very handy, and I love the green color. I've used it every day for the past six months and I know it will last a very long time. This is my first Fjällräven backpack, and I'm so glad I took a chance on it.

Cannot be washed if soiled
I've been using this backpack for over 3 years now and have had no issues until some liquid spilled inside by accident recently. There is unfortunately no way to fully clean and dry the inside (no washing machine, and cannot be turned inside-out for drying). The waterproof fabric keeps water out but also keeps moisture in. Now I'm stuck with an expensive backpack with a horrible stench that will never go away.

Not impressed
I bought this last month to do the West Highland Way in Scotland. As a backpack, very cool comfortable to carry but the slightest rain and all contents were very wet, disappointed

Excellent quality just too big
It’s great quality- I just wish it was more unisex in overall sizing. The dome fit my head- I’m a 5’6” female with an average size head and I bought a SM, but the overall hat was pretty big, the faux fur was very generous, and it just didn’t look right on me. So I returned it.

Perfect but for a lack of more inner pockets
I love this backpack for its minimalist design. It’s also lightweight and feels really comfortable when I wear it. It would be the perfect commuter-backpack if only it had more zippered pockets to organize stuff. The inside of the top lid would really benefit from two mesh, zippered, compartments like on the Ulvo 30. I find myself in need of storing miscellaneous stuff more efficiently and the main compartment doesn’t really help with that. I guess, for me, the perfect day-to-day backpack would be a mix of the Raven 20 ( in terms of organization) and Ulvo 23 (in terms of sleek design, water repellency and chest strap)

Lightweight, comfortable, and slim!
I’ve had the smaller size of this backpack for a year now and I love it so much. It’s perfect for traveling and for working remotely- I love how slim it is on the back. It’s so light and fits my laptop, cords, plus other items like books and a hoodie. The water bottle side pouches stretch for larger bottles, or easy to clip on the sides. I do wish the smaller size had and additional interior net pocket on the top like the larger size but it’s not a deal breaker.

Sleek but an extra sleeve would make it perfect
Chose the Ulvo 23 over Raven 20, pretty much for the compression strap, sternum strap and aesthetics. I do like the bag a lot. It's sleek. Quality is good. Back panel is impressively sturdy. However, like some people have already commented, I do find myself constantly wishing for at least one more zipped pocket for organization, or another sleeve for a tablet/notebook/documents. I have yet to heard if the interior water proofing layer will de-laminate with age , but if you really prefer longevity and willing to compromise on water resistance, my money is on the Raven 20.

Versatile and clean
This backpack can do it all! It's so spacious to carry whatever you may need in a day but also clean and looks good that you can take it wherever. Would recommend!
