Vidda Pro Pants - Sz 52
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 52
I've had a couple of Kebs but these are my favorites. I've had them out during PNW downpours and they shed water really well and I like the fit. I have 1620 single and double front, Mtn Khaki, Kuhl and Arborwear pants. I spend a lot of days out in all conditions. These are my go-to pants unless it's properly cold out. They're lighter than any of the cotton canvas pants and less restrictive. I also like that the thigh pockets all have snap closures so that what's in your pockets stays in your pockets. The new sizing scheme is cut a little smaller, so if you know what size you wear in Fjallravens, size up one. 50 was perfect for me before and 52 fits the same as the 50 did.

Poor quality
I work as a forester and bought the Vidda Pro trousers based on their durability reputation. I've worn them over the last two years, alternating with trousers from another outdoor brand. Unfortunately, the Vidda Pros have not stood up to the wear and tear as I would have hoped: the seem on the elasticated cuff on the trouser leg has disintegrated, as has the stitching around the groin. The other trousers from another brand have lasted over the same period under the same conditions without fault, and are £100 cheaper. My honest review is the Vidda Pros are not worth the money, and those looking for durability for outdoor work should look elsewhere.

Great but not good in the rain.
Bought these in Bozeman MT store. I’m a UPS driver and they just saw their first rain. Love the pants and fit and style, but not really water resistant like I thought they would be. Kinda disappointed for that.

Tight pockets
Fit great until you start moving, or doing any activity other than standing, with empty pockets. I've never had a pair of pants that make you feel exactly what's in your pockets so strongly..so many cargo areas but I don't even like putting my thin smart phone in the cargo pockets since it restricts movement. I've never had this with another pair in of paints, so even if they fit great in the changing room, make sure you load the pockets with stuff and try some bigger movements before you commit and regret like me.

Confusing sizing
I have wanted a pair of Vidda Pros for a while and finally took the plunge. I am a 34" waist in my Carhartt cargos so I ordered a 34. They arrived a week later and were way too small so I returned them and found a shop which had some Greenland jeans which were a perfect fit in a 36 so I bought them and ordered a pair of Viddas in 36. Another week passes, they arrive and again, too small! The legs were snug but fitted well but the waist was about an inch short. I sent them back and ordered a 38. Another week later they arrive, generous but ok in the waist but the legs creased in odd places and the knee shape stuck out and looked really odd. I figured they might be better after a wash but they didn't change. So now I will have to sell them as used, I still don't have any Fjallraven work trousers and I'm really confused about the sizing. I get the impression that they would fit an athletic body shape very well and be a great trouser for years. However, any other body shape and the "fit" doesn't really fit.

Good, but have size/cut issues
Well engineered lightweight trousers, but disappointing fit. The cut seems odd. I ordered the exact same size as my Sormland winter trousers, which are a bit loose on me, but the Vidda are uncomfortably tight at the top and around my thighs.

Great outdoor pants
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

- 52 - regular
I own several pairs of this pant. The material is rain resistant (may need to wax periodically), with nice fit and finish. Great for hiking in cool, wet weather, and the Pro version is also good in warm weather with the side zips to dump heat. Highly recommended.

durable
i bought these at the start of the summer and wore them on a 45 day canoeing trip in northern Nunavut and i only took them off to sleep i got recommended these from a leader i had the previous year who wore them on our 30 day canoeing trip in northern Saskatchewan and said he couldn’t get enough of them they are amazing i loved every feature about them and the only thing that wore was the water proofing all i have to do is re wax them and they’ll be good as new again i extremely recommend these trekking pants

Great Fit and Features
I bought this pair of pants about a month ago and used it for hiking about 3-4 times. Its excellent in terms of its durability. Really like the accesible pockets. The newer fit is better!

Impressive quality but odd fitment
The quality of these trousers is immediately apparent when you first put them on. Stitching, hardware, pockets, and all the little details feel very well made and constructed. That being said, I would highly recommend you size up in the waist. The G-1000 material on these trousers is not meant to stretch, so the 44 (29") fits very tight around the waist and thighs. For reference, I am 5'6" / 140-150lbs and usually wear size 29/30 pants. A 46 (30") offers more room but definitely feels a little large. If you're going to order these online make sure you're prepared to make a return or exchange - can't stress enough how odd the sizing is.
