Why We Like The Flylow Kane Jacket
The Kane Jacket is Flylow's lightest shell specialized for gram-counting backcountry skiers and minimalist-minded backpackers. Despite its lightness, the Kane's Intuitive Perm membrane boasts surprisingly high waterproof ratings for outstanding protection in powder and under rainfall. Intuitive Perm is also air permeable, which means it begins to breathe right when you put the jacket on instead of after we start sweating like the majority of shells. That makes it ideal for athletic pursuits like boot packing up a couloir or ridge-traversing quickly due to oncoming storms.

Thin shell
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

- XL

This shell is by far the thinnest I've owned. I usually buy 686 shells and they seem to be a lot thicker. Most of my rain jackets are thicker than this jacket is. It would be great for spring skiing. I needed a full season shell and this may be good for repelling water and keeping me dry but the wind cuts right through it.
