Why We Like The Fox Racing Rampage Helmet
Fox Racing's DH-specific Rampage Helmet is not as robust as the V3 moto helmet it resembles, but it drops weight thanks to its injected-molded shell. That lightness brings the Rampage in line with what we need in a gravity lid. After all, mountain bike helmets aren't expected to absorb the same impacts as their moto counterparts.
The lost grams reduce neck fatigue on the mountain while diffusing forces in the kinds of impacts we expect while riding aggressively. It's constructed from a vented ABS shell for durability, which is layered over an EPS foam core to absorb diggers. On the inside, soft cheek pads, a synthetic suede lining, and a double D-ring chin strap keep the Rampage from rattling around and it won't irritate when removing for the ride up. The shell has 11 vents, and Fox Racing made the Rampage's eye-opening plenty wide for modern, peripheral-favoring goggles.

I purchased a helmet in February 2024. It came in the wrong color, missing a tag. I exchanged it for another helmet and the new helmet came used, dirty, and still the wrong color. I sent it back and had to contact this company 5 times to get a refund. It is now April and I just now received a refund minus the shipping costs. I was told I wouldn't be charged shipping, but honestly, it's not worth my time being on hold for another hour and a half. They got me. Don't let them get you too. Go to a store and find a helmet. They will be new with a tag and you know it's the right color and fits well. Lesson learned.

Super sick helmet. I bought a M as I already own a M Fox trail helmet that I love. The helmet is super tight! I went ahead and purchased smaller cheek pads and it's not quite as tight, but I wore it for 7 hours straight the first time w/the original pads and I was only starting to be a bit uncomfortable at the very end of the ride. So I imagine the tightness is a good thing in relation to protection. I live in Texas and have only worn it in the winter so far, so we'll have to see how well it breaths when I'm riding in 100+ degree weather, but currently, it's well-ventilated. I feel like it would def do its job if I had a gnarly crash!!
