Why We Like The Garmin Edge Explore 2 GPS
For road cyclists who want reliable navigation but can do without advanced training and recovery metrics, Garmin’s Edge Explore 2 GPS bike computer delivers a bang for our buck with its ample display size and slate of basic day-to-day features. The Explore 2 shines with navigation, letting us create and upload routes from Strava, Komoot, and others or follow existing routes stores in the Edge’s Course Creator. Bike-specific maps highlight popular roads, high-traffic areas, and points of interest, while off-course recalculation helps us quickly re-route if needed. The Edge Explore 2 features up to a 16-hour battery life in demanding use, keeping us covered for longer rides and helping preserve our phone battery.

Great GPS for the price, but fragile
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I had very few problems with the GPS unit. I enjoyed the simple design and ability to pick up a signal in rural places. Loves the warnings and climbing features, and how it integrates into your phone and other Garmin devices. I have some general problems with Garmin, such as connection issues between the app and this device. I had more issues connecting to this GPS than my watch that I have had for many years. Unfortunately, I inadvertently volunteered to strength test this Garmin and dropped it onto a hard surface. The device still works but the screen is completely broken, leaving no visible features to interact with. No warranty for this type of damage, despite it being relatively new, is frustrating to say the least, and something I try to avoid when purchasing outdoor equipment. Won't be buying another one.
