Why We Like The Index S2 Smart Scale
Whether you're training for a tri, making a commitment to getting healthy, or just working on getting ready for summer, Garmin's Index Smart Scale makes sticking to your plan a whole lot easier. It does all the classic scale things: weighing in pounds, kilograms, and even stone. It also tracks body mass index, body fat percentage, bone mass, and skeletal muscle mass, all of which are important data points for high-level athletes. The Index can recognize and remember up to 16 different users, and of course it can sync to Garmin Connect, the online platform that lets you track and analyze all your workout data, so you can see exactly how your workouts correspond to your goals.

It has vary user friendly features
I love this scale. The shape the size and the function so much to enjoy out of this one product.

Owned this a few months now as an accessory to go with my Garmin watch. Still diving into the features but there is one negative I would give this item so far. It’s extremely difficult to “wake up.” I can’t just tap it or step on it to wake it up, I about have to kick it..

Not as reliable as the first Index Scale
This scale does not come on as easily, it often drops the body composition measurements so I only get weight. It also does not seem as accurate. I have been bodybuilding for the past two years and although I see visible changes, the body fat % either stays the same or increases.

Pretty OK lil' scale
CON: Had issues linking with my Garmin Connect. Tried to add another user and everything got messed up. S2 could not tell the difference between me vs. my husband (100 lbs. difference between us!) Ended up having to re-download everything and start from scratch. Frustrating. PRO: Works great WITH ONLY ONE USER Like how it links directly to my Garmin Connect WITH ONLY ONE USER Slick design and easy to read display

Better than most smart scales, not enough measuret
I had previously used the Starft scale which had 14 measurements/kpi's. Garmin gives 7. but the integration to other garmin tools is good, no more manual input. Garmin really needs to add more measures, especially since some are minor programming changes to their app such as adding %ages or ones that require simple math like weight minus x = y

Truly single user device
I bought this as a gift for my husband. Have tried absolutely everything to add myself as a second user. Yes, we did the invitation multiple times. Went through all the trouble shooting steps. Finally got me on, but then my husband was removed. We have spent way too much time trying to have this scale work for just 2 people. We have had to accept that it will record the data for one person and anyone else can only use it as an old fashioned scale where you just look at the number. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Not great.
I am having a lot of problems with this device. It doesn't always turn on properly, giving a whole bunch of things on the display. When I received it, I set it up and took a baseline reading. The next morning, it reported that I had gained 3lbs overnight. This scale is not cheap. I bought it to replace a different 'smart scale', which cost me about 10% of the cost of the garmin product, but worked every time. Also, why the heck should an adblocker affect the user posting a review???

Skeptical of the data
All aspects of body weight move up or down together. Id assume body water % would be drive of daily fluctuations but the data on this are all correlated. It feels like it measures weight and then allocates the pounds among fat, muscle etc.

Sharp
Sharp looking, wealth of data- Having some read on my hydration was important and this fits the bill.

Minimal tracking in app, takes a while to turn on
I bought this about a month ago, so far not very impressed. The scale will not turn on if you stand on it immediately, you got to give it a nudge and then it’ll turn on. Tracking of BMI and fat % seem a bit off and very little customization on the app for different views
