This review compares the Gore R5 2in1 short to the Gore R7 and Salomon Agile. I chose the Gore R5 because it balanced compression, comfort, and convenience for a range of activities including running, trail run/hike, yoga, and strength/crossfit workouts. It is a good value (especially on sale). In comparison the Gore R7 was lighter/thinner and had higher quality "finish" (e.g., zippers, ties, pockets, seams). The R7 material and stitching was so much thinner that I worried about durability. Also, the fit of the R7 was slimmer than the same size R5. Lastly, the description for this product says "2 side pockets" but these are really pouches along the waistband - good for gels but not much more. The Salomon Agile had a 'baggier' cut than either Gore product.
