Why We Like The Gregory Jade 28L Backpack
The Gregory Jade 28 Backpack is an adjustable daypack for hikers that's specially made to fit women's bodies. We like the Jade's adjustability with its women-specific 3D comfort cradle hipbelt that hugs our hips just right, an adjustable back panel that fits different torso lengths, and women-shaped shoulder straps for upper body comfort. It's also comfortable with the open-air back panel to aerate our backs and a free float suspension system that flexes and pivots with our body movements to prevent rubs, hot spots, and blisters. The 26-liter capacity is perfect for carrying lunch and layers on long day hikes with six external pockets and one internal security pocket to help us keep track of our water bottles, maps, electronics, lip balm, and snacks. The Jade is hydration-compatible to keep you hydrated on your next hike.

Too tall for me
There’s a lot to like about this pack. It has tons of functionality, and it’s mostly comfortable to carry. I didn’t end up keeping it, because it’s just really tall. I kept bumping my head on it if I leaned my head back to drink water. I don’t think it’s a design flaw, it’s just how it sat on my body.

Mount St. Helens Pack
It was the perfect size and weight pack for doing a Summer Accent of Mount St. Helens, got it for my wife and was light enough but sturdy enough to carry all her supplies including water, microspikes, and an ice axe.

Breakable water hose clip/whistle
I purchased this pack in January to replace a different day pack. Great design except the little water hose clip, which broke upon my 10th or 11th time using the pack for hiking. Breast strap is now detached from the shoulder straps leaving less stability in my pack. Hiking pole straps aren’t really my favorite either but they work mostly. I’m not used to poor quality with Gregory packs.

XS is perfect for a petite woman
XS is perfect for a petite woman. Tried other cheaper packs but the straps were so wide they irritated my neck.

Comfortable pack with great features.
I bought this for my wife. She has had other daypacks. This one is her favorite by far.

It looks like the new version of the Jade 28 no longer has a rain cover. This was such a useful feature, why was it removed?
