Grivel's wide 29mm bent gate clips a rope fast when forearms are cooked on sport routes
The Grivel Stealth Bent Gate Carabiner is built for the rope end of a quickdraw on bolted sport routes, where a single fumbled clip can end a redpoint attempt. The bent gate and straight nose work together: the gate sweeps the rope inward and the nose lets it seat without catching, completing the clip in one motion even when the hand barely makes contact. At 44 grams, it adds nothing meaningful to a full rack of draws across a long route.
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The 29mm gate opening is the detail that earns its keep when forearms are cooked at the top of a hard pitch. The rope finds its way in without any coaxing from a tired hand, and the straight nose keeps it seated cleanly once it's clipped."
