Good midweight jacket, not long lasting

I bought this jacket in March 2023 and only use it when skiing. Its a nice fit that allows for a couple layers, but won't be the warmest jacket. It has plentiful pockets but its snug enough to limit space somewhat. Overall, I've liked this jacket. My reason for only giving 3 stars is that after 36 days of skiing, its starting to fall apart. Nothing major, but I've lost a snap on the powder skirt and the breast pocket ripped open at the seam so you see the insulation. Totally still usable, but not a quality that will last. The main zipper also split open on me yesterday, hopefully a fluke due to wearing an oversized midlayer.

I bought this jacket for the days of snowboarding in less harsh weather. I fleece under the jacket kept me perfectly warm down the runs. The hoodie shape allows it to cover my helmet and outlines my face for protection from wind.

Best jacket I have owned

Very lightweight, comfortable and warm. So streamlined that my wife didn’t think it would keep me warm, but actually the opposite. Love the color and accents, and the wrist gaiters are a great feature to keep our cold air and snow

I am really enjoying this jacket this ski season. Bought at end of 2023 ski season. I am 6'-1" and 180lb and got a size Medium. Fit is snug but I wouldn't want a large as it would be too baggy. Probably not a lot of room for additional layers underneath besides a long underwear top but it keeps me plenty warm skiing in high teens and into the 20's. Only negative is the powder skirt doesn't really get tight enough to stay in place or keep the snow out in a good crash. Like the hand loops to keep the sleeves tucked into my gloves.

I agree with Justin Y. I bought the ‘22 version of the jacket. I wore it a few times during the winter of ‘22-‘23. Great fit, style and warmth. I wore it maybe 15-20 days during winter of ‘23. By the end of the season the stitching along the zippers was getting undone. Also had a rip in the shoulder without obvious contact with tree branches. I returned it. HH would not give me a new one as replacement because even though the jacket came fro Backcountry it was purchased through Amazon. I finished the season using my 16 year old Arcteryx sidewinder. If you truly want something that’s bulletproof, look no further than Arcteryx goretex shells.

A well fitting but fragile jacket. Unfortunately, the outer shell material is very thin/flimsy/fragile. A brush with a small tree left an entire arm panel ripped open (damage beyond the surface scratch). This was after only 3 days on the mtn. I have never owned another ski jacket that became damaged so easily. Once ripped, you can see the shell fabric is paper thin. This is a real bummer because the style and fit of the jacket is otherwise excellent. The collar is the best feature on this jacket. It stands up on its own when zipped up, rather than being floppy like some others. It cuts the wind and is just the right height. The hood is a bit small/tight over a helmet, but it seems to be a concession to not obstructing your side view which is a fair trade. The shell seems fully water and windproof for the few days I wore it. The jacket is a bit short for boarders bending down to strap in, but I had no issues when combined with bibs. The jacket itself is very warm. If you ski/ride only occasionally and run cold, this is an adequate choice. If you want a jacket to last many years, I'm not sure this is it.
