Very breathable

My prior pair of Hestra gloves were the all mountain czone gloves, they lasted almost 10 years before they went missing. Awesome gloves for the price. Upgraded to these, hoping for even more durability. Warmth is similar, but breathability is remarkable, I managed to fill the gloves with snow multiple times while removing the gloves for phone use, the soaked interior dried in mere minutes while wearing them with just the heat of my hand. Quite impressed. I do like to size up, I measure between an 8 and 9, I am 5’9” and a 9 “fits” but like the 10s. The looser fit is warm, less stiff to move, and allows some air to circulate in the case moisture is building.

Sizing is way off

This rating is for both the glove and backcountry. I bought a size 9 after measuring my hand multiple times and the size was way too small. Backcountry gave me an option of exchange or return for credit. I wanted to just return for refund and buy the size 10, so I'd get them sooner and they wouldn't sell out. Well, they got the size 9 back and now the 10 are out of stock. Why they don't put aside the 10 for an exchange is beyond me. This is after chatting with a rep for a while about the options. They were on sale as well. Thanks backcountry. thanks.

I have a drawer full of gloves and mittens. I thought what the heck let’s try another pair, I have never found a warm pair of gloves until I purchased these! The leather is soft and comfortable, I even told my friends that don’t ski about these great gloves!! I have finally found a great pair of gloves! Thank you!!

First pair of gloves my hands actually remained warm in freezing weather. Difficulties in fastening and unfastening outerwear while wearing these gloves. Overall well worth purchasing.

Right out of the box, not impressed. I typically wear size xl. size 10 was the right fit. Thought I probably spent to much. I applied the provided waterproofing to the leather. Five days later the gloves were tested. All day snowstorm in Michigan, average 25 deg. F. Total of six hours outside, 2 hour intervals doing snow removal. Fell in love with fit and comfort. No longer in doubt, money well spent. Rob

Got them for my old man and he's never been happier with a glove in all his years skiing. If anything they can get a little toasty, anything above 30 and these might be overkill. Will be purchasing a pair for myself.

Great Gloves

I bought these as a gift and he loves them. Said they really kept his hands nice and warm while skiing in 5° weather.

Nice glove when dry

I went for the Gore-tex version of this glove thinking the extra waterproofing would help. However, it actually makes the glove worse for one very important reason. No detachable liner. The normal Heli version of this glove has a detachable liner which achieves two things; it can be removed to be easily dried AND for the price of the Gore-tex version you can buy an extra liner to keep warm & easily swap out on the slopes. The Gore-tex version effectively seals in any moisture that gets inside the glove and it's very difficult to thoroughly dry it out. This makes it a pain to use on back-to-back days and likely to get wet & cold on longer days. I swapped this for the Heli 3-finger glove & an extra liner, which is warmer, nearly as waterproof when properly waxed, and much easier to dry out & clean. I highly recommend buying the normal Heli version of your choice instead (mitt, 3-finger, glove) and an extra liner that you keep stashed near your base layers for warmth.
