Quality, great fit & comfort

I have not use these in the cold yet, but I can tell just by how they feel that they will be very warm. I purchase them on sale to bring with me on a trip to Alaska and to keep in my repertoire for skiing and backcountry experiences. I am a 5 foot 10 125 foot woman and I started with a size 8, then a nine and settled on a size 10. I have hands that are proportionate to my body, but I don’t consider them to be very large and my fingers are slim. I really think these gloves run small.

Hestra is the GOAT
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Since I got my first pair of Hestra's, I have never looked back. They are easily the most comfortable, and highest quality gloves out there. The leather holds up better than any synthetic I've tried, and I have pairs that I still wear that are 7+ years old. As long as you take care of them (keep them oiled, and waterproofed), they will last for years. I also have owned most of the styles (gloves, mittens, and the split finger mittens), and I have to say that mittens are usually my go to for colder days, since I can easily layer a liner with them.

Got these mittens to replace a pair of failing Burton Gondie Gloves, and they did the trick! Was in the Alps for a week, lows in the single digits (F), and my hands were never cold! They are easy to get on and off, fit my hands well, and the inside dried out quickly (from hand sweat, not water intrusion). One critical thing to do when I got them was to bake them at a low temp, apply wax, and repeat a few times. This really upped the water resistance and kept out anything from my hands. On top of all that, they look awesome, I expect to have these for years to come!

So, I had to leave a review because I almost didn't buy these because of the other review here offering 1 star. I know opinions are subjective but I could not be happier with these. First off, warmth: My hands are always cold ... always. I just wanted something warm and these gloves kept me toasty warm snowboarding today with a high of 8 degrees. For once, it actually dumped snow here in the east last night and the adjustable cuff kept the powder out, and hands warm and dry. Functionality: Had no issues buckling/unbuckling bindings. Inside the glove is a warm liner which has what I would describe as slots for fingers but it is not a glove. Fingers stay close together to keep you warm, but in place.
