Not warm
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought these for the hockey rink. They barely warm and only in the tips of the fingers. I was so disappointed because I am a huge Hestra fan. I purchased the Outdoor Research gloves for my son and they got very hot but only for a few hours. I returned these and purchased another OR pair of gloves.

Normally I love Hestra products so this was a big (and expensive) disappointment. I bought these liners to use with the recommended Hestra mittens that go with them and these things are so bulky that they’re totally impractical to use in the kind of conditions where I would want to use them. I have very poor mobility/use of my hands with these things on compared to normal mittens and they are so big that the Velcro straps on the supposedly compatible shell mitten can barely be fastened. When I do actually fasten them, it’s an extremely tight fit and very uncomfortable because of the way the battery packs are pressed so tightly against my wrists. Maybe these would be better if you used larger size mittens with a smaller liner size? I would not recommend this product based on my experience

Awesome glove/mitten liner that keeps my hands warm on the coldest of days. They are pretty light-weight for mittens with built in batteries. Hestra products rock!

My daughters asked what I wanted for Christmas, so they got a gift certificate for me! I ordered these for skiing, and the most recent was at Winter Park, the temps were about 10 all day, with flurries. My hands stayed toasty!! I start on the lowest when I'm getting boots, skis on and head to the lift, then I up the temp to medium. Most recent ski day, I needed to use the high rating. They are wonderful! I should have done this years ago. I got frostbite on many of my fingers years ago driving home in leather gloves in an old Jeep Wagoner that did not have great heat for single digits. These mittens are bit bulky due to the batteries on the inside cuff, but after a couple of uses, I'm able to pull them on and off quickly. You do need to have an outside shell mitten to put over the mittens to protect the puffy "liner". Batteries take 8-10 hours to fully charge, so plug them in at dinner time and they will be ready for an early morning trip to the mountain!
