Why We Like The Army Leather GTX 3-Finger Mitten
We love the Army Leather GTX 3-Finger Mitten from Hestra because it combines GORE-TEX waterproof technology with a highly dexterous 3-finger design. We easily adjust our snowboard bindings with the separated pointer finger, while the others stay close together for added warmth.

Comfortable but not that warm!

I’ve worn these through the whole season in all types of conditions. The gloves are easy to get in and out of, I appreciate the wrist leashes and powder cuffs, and my hands stay dry. But I’m disappointed that In moderate weather that my hands get cold. I was on Mt. Hood yesterday and it was 28 degrees with about 10-15 mph winds and my hands got cold without removing my gloves after just a couple of runs. For what they cost I would hope for a little more warmth or liners to be included. These aren’t any warmer than the 5 year old, 60 dollar Dakine gloves that these replaced.

Good, but not as good as hoped for

Overall, I'm satisfied with this glove/mitten. But, it isn't as warm as I thought it would be. Not much warmer than the pair of gloves it replaced. Also, the strap on the bottom is useless. It's too tight when it's done up. I keep it undone and will likely be cutting it off to get it out of the way. This is a design feature that could be eliminated.

Extremely Nice Gloves!

I finally got around to retiring my favorite old paid of Outdoor Research ski gloves, and replaced them with these Hestra Army Leather GTX 3 Finger gloves. I must say these are quite nice. I have seen a couple of people complain that they are not warm enough for the price. I have not had that issue. I'm sure there are warmer gloves out there, but these do great. The only thing is that you can really only wear a thin liner glove underneath if you're looking to add more warmth. But really these are killer. Quality from top to bottom.

Warm but smallish

Very warm gloves but on the smallish side. I’m a size 10 and the length is short. Wearing my garmin6x pro the wrist strap is too small to close. Also the gator is on the smallish shirt size wrapping over jackets. Well made though.

These are great gloves for skiing, perfect for keeping out snow and the cold. I don’t recall having issues with cold in the 3 years that i’ve skied with them but I don’t run cold to begin with. The extra finger gives you so much more control than a normal mitten. Would recommend this glove for skiing and anything outside.

Truly Suprised
- Familiarity:

First time using these gloves on my bike commute, between 25-28 degrees F (no wind, sunny) I was truly shocked that 10 minutes into the ride my index fingers and thumbs were numb. I ignored other reviewers claiming similar problems. With my old swix gore-tex mittens this would never happen at these temperatures. No doubt that Hestra makes fine crafted gloves, but if you are looking for warmth I would look elsewhere or perhaps try a layering system. Obviously I have not put these through the wringer, grateful that backcountry will exchange for another solution. Similar to others, at this price point, I cannot justify having cold fingers on a 27 degree day after 10-15 minutes of exposure.
