These are in no way waterproof
Not sure why they market these as a waterproof shoe, the first puddle I put a toe in resulted in wet feet. They are comfortable enough, the insoles were all wonky and unevenly inserted when they arrived, but once I fixed that I was fine. But definitely do not buy these if you need them to keep you dry.

Not Waterproof at all
This is my 2nd pair of Anacapa GTX. My original pair were great, lasted many miles & a wet trip thru Iceland. Thise Anacapa 2 not so much. A walk thru wet grass at the park & my socks are soaked, especially the toe box. They would never hold up to trail hiking in wet conditions. Very disappointed that I have to return.

Great hiking shoes for general use but too soft for ferrata
Hiked on these for 3 weeks in the Dolomites. Comfortable. Good grip even on wet limestone. Great shoe to accommodate wide toe box. Maybe a bit too large, wore thicker socks. Works great for general hiking and as easy approach shoe. But the sole is too soft for via ferrata or scrambling. My foot placements held, but they were sloppy, leaning, not 100% solid. Handled scree, steep slopes, rock, grass all okay just not solid enough for more technical. Goretex kept socks dry even in rain and snow.

Great but not for via ferrata
Thank you for offering a wide in this shoe. Appreciate rain resistant. Using these in Dolomites hiking. Good grip even on polished limestone. But not great for via ferrata, too flexible, not a solid enough edge. For moderate difficulty via ferrata okay, used arms, legs to compensate but harder via ferrata the lack of structural stability of shoe was an issue. Switched to other more rigid shoes. For hiking great but above that becomes problematic.

Why!!
I have been buying Hokas for many years. After having a tendon tear in my foot several years ago I need wide shoes. I have been waiting for a waterproof hiking shoe in a wide for... Well, what seems like forever. I really wanted to love these shoes, but the tongue is too long and rubs on my ankle. Also unlike the other styles of wide shoes, these seem to be much wider. Why are there so few waterproof Hokas in wide? So disappointing they'll have to go back

Comfy hikers
I originally ordered a pair of Skyline Float X hikers, but they felt a little too small & sort of cheap-feeling. Then I found the Anacapa's. They were on sale, so significantly cheaper than the Skylines. I wasn't sure about the brownish color, but for the price I decided to try them & ordered them 1/2 size bigger than the Skylines. They are SO comfortable - wore them for the first time the other day on a 1.5 hour mountain hike & no problems at all. And I think the color looks nicer in person than online. I also feel like these were a better value than the Skylines b/c they contain some genuine leather & are Gortex. They feel more sturdy & well-made, like a hiking shoe rather than a tennis shoe. I would definitely recommend.

No I would not.
I would not buy this product again. Balance is wonderful, but the product is too wide and that is uncomfortable. My heal gets sore at times where the top rolls up.

Hiking with Hoka
I wear hoka shoes everyday, and can't say enough about how great they are. So when I needed a pair of hiking shoes for vacation , I immediately went to hoka . Com , and found exactly what I was looking for. Couldn't be happier with them.

Great support
Waited to send a review until I broke my sneakers in. They are great for a girl with a lot of foot problems. I don't even need my orthopedic inserts. Lots of room in the toe box and cushion support with each step. First time wearing this brand and I love them.
