200 Oasis Legging With Fly

You've learned from experience that the tail end of every season is the best time to get out in the mountains—late fall trail runs consist of empty trails, tacky conditions, and misty mountain views, and spring skiing usually equates to a stable snowpack, creamy spring corn, and tourist-free mountains. The Icebreaker Men's BodyFit 200 Oasis Legging With Fly thrives in these kind of conditions thanks to its lightweight merino wool fabric that's breathable, temperature regulating, and naturally odor-resistant. Icebreaker's 200 weight fabric is best suited for cool to cold conditions (fall, spring, and mild winter temperatures) and is specifically designed to be worn all year.

Great mid weight base layer

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I wore this and the matching top to sleep when camping in Florida. Warm enough in 40 degrees, breathable enough in 70 degrees, and thick enough to keep mosquitoes from biting.

Great base layer

The Icebreaker long underwear do a great job of keeping me warm and dry when out and about in the winter. I've used these for numerous winter hikes in the Whites, a bit of snowboarding, and even some cold days out on the ocean. The only problem is a moth in my closet seemed to have taken a liking to them too, so I'm now sure to store them with some cedar blocks in between adventures. The wool is a little heavier and dries a little slower than my old polypro, but it doesn't hold odor like the polypro, and I'm happy to be wearing wool instead of plastic.

Great Base layer

Just used these as a base layer on a snowboarding trip. They worked out great. I did have to fold them up a bit to keep them above my snowboard boots but no issues. Also didn't notice any odor after wearing all day.

No

I've bought a couple of these over the years. Out of the box they appear great and are cozy comfortable but soon after, with every pair, I noticed the left leg twists. Drives me crazy. The other thing that bugs is that there is no longevity. Within one season holes emerge and soon after it's all over. There's no reason these should break down so quickly. Also your "survey" below with the multiple choices aren't very accurate. On the fit, they are great in the legs, baggy in the crotch, and tight around the waist. On would I recommend, yes but only if these issues can be addressed.

Just purchased my second pair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These base layers bottoms are the best. I use them under Goretex shell pants for all my winter sports. They keep their shape and wash well.

Warm, comfortable fit, and functional

Warm, comfortable fit, and functional. I advise that you consider the conditions in which you plan to wear your long underwear before purchasing. Icebreaker has a lot of good options for different temperatures. This has worked well for me hiking and cross-country skiing at temperatures near freezing but this is specific to the mid-layers I wear.

Warm and Comfy

When it comes to baselayers, there are options galore. But since purchasing the 200 Oasis these have been my go to pair. The fabric is soft and a bit thick, but still fits fine in a ski boot. They fit very well without feeling constricting or baggy. The best praise I can give them is that I don't really notice them when they're on. I just feel warmer, which is exactly what I need. Are they a bit pricey, yes. But if you're going to spend any significant time out in the cold be it camping, skiing, or just walking around, these are well worth the investment.

Fabulous base layer

I am a firm believer in wool. I wear these when the wind whipping and tried to cut right through my jeans/pants. I was really comfortable in 19 degrees and 25mph winds. They breathe really well , don’t absorb moisture and not too warm when going inside.

Love them

The fit is great. As you may have experienced some base layers are high waisted and can be pulled up to near your nipples. Not these. They ride exactly where my waist is of my pants. In general, fit like a dream. Being wool there is zero wool feel - no itching just warmth. I have worn these working for several days in a row and they seem to be holding up better than most.

Good Mid Weight Base Layer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought theses as a base layer for skiing and the mountain temps are often in the single digits with wind. They are a touch light when just standing outside or on the chair but perfect while skiing and moving. I think they will also be good for winter hikes or cold spring/fall days working on the water.
