Very Comfortable base layer

It was great had my base layer ice climbing in the teen temps, did what it was designed to do good heavier weight base layer for colder parts of winter the zipper does had a little weight if you are super weight conscious

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second version of this. I wore the first until I had holes in arms. I love the feel, the breathability, the comfort, the warmth, the lightness. Great for climbing and relaxing. Doesn't stink like polypro.

Great as a layer or alone depending on temps. Would be 5 stars if it had a zipper pocket on the chest for cell phone.

Warm, soft and great zip neck

Warm without being bulky, relatively soft, it zips up high enough on the neck and unzips pretty far down for warmer days. Would recommend

Much more relaxed fit than the 260 zone knit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this base layer when ice climbing and back country skiing. I love the 1/2 zip when you're working hard and then being able to close the zip to retain your heat. The fit of this top is much more loose than the fit of the zone knit top. I like a close fitting neck to keep my neck warm and this does not do that.

Everything about the product is great except the durability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You cant not wash this garment more than a few times during its short life. Every top I have ever bought never lasted more than 11 months. The people at icebreaker refuse to reinforce those areas like elbows and under the arms which could extend the life of this garment. I imagine that they want to make people purchase this over and over again. So to make up for this they allow you to get a free sweater if you send them pictures of the one that has worn out in less than a year.

A buddy an' I went for an ATV ride to Park Lake, MT in late November. With a lil anti-freeze on board and in the light of a full moon, I went for a walkabout over the frozen lake. Leg went through the ice an' down I went. The sounds of surrounding ice popping, I pondered my predicament as water seeped over the ice. With nothing to grab hold of to pull myself out, I decided to simply roll over, and voila! No more bait fishin'! Long story long, wool DOES insulate even when wet. Icebreaker 260 top an' bottom, the IB original sweater and some good laughs kept me warm enough for the 1hr ride back to Chubbies...
