Why We Like The Siren Hipkini Underwear
Icebreaker made the Siren Hipkini out of ultralight merino wool with a touch of Lycra for a great fit. Soft and gentle against your skin, the Siren has a low rise and full coverage in the back. The merino naturally deals with odor so you can get through multi-day backpacking treks and hut-to-hut ski tours without using up precious packing space with extra undies.

I'm going to keep buying these, especially on sale!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The icebreaker underwear are fabulous. They aren't cheap so I like to buy them on sale. I will continue to buy them as they wear very well and are so comfortable. I like the variety of colors, the texture against my skin and the overall fit.

Best fitting hiking underwear
Great fit which is usually difficult since I'm a size 14-16 women's pant and does the job with sweat and odor.

I like hipkini
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good underwear. I bought them to match the bra, in the same color. I intend to wear them together as a swimsuit. Beautiful color. I wish they were 100% merino wool. Not to mention the threads, which are polyester. I'm waiting for more colors.

Runs small
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Knit is tight from the underwear. Usually a size med. on merino underwear from other brands.

I have been searching for merino wool undies that stay in place while I'm hiking. These are the ones! They are very comfortable and temperature regulating.

What happened?
This used to be my absolute favorite pair of underwear and I've convinced so many friends to buy it, but the quality has gone WAY down. The fabric is now thinner and the side seam fell apart after less than a month. I always baby my icebreaker clothes by washing them in garment bags on a gentle cycle, so I'm not sure how this happened. I'm guessing they got a new manufacturer or are cutting corners to save $, but you can't charge $35-40/ per pair of underwear if you're going to give us underwear that pulls apart at the seams. I really hope they're reading all of these reviews because so many have mentioned the major quality drop.

great for men!
Men's underwear today is terrible -- giant elastic waistbands branded like billboards, fabric down to your knees, sweaty cotton, or Borat-style ridiculous with pouches that no-one actually fills. The heather hipkini is perfect, almost -- super comfortable, tight but not uncomfortable, never rides up, never smells, easy to wash, fast drying, takes minimal luggage space, and is pretty gender neutral in style. Please, Icebreaker, list these for both women and men, and take "woman" off the printed label...

Comfy and lightweight
These are great. Fit well and are very comfortable. Warm but not sweaty. Could have possibly sized up. These are great for any occasion.

The only underwater I buy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the only brand/type of underwear I have purchased in years. It is worth the price. Fit/feel is great. Perfect if you travel a lot and occasionally need to do laundry in a hotel sink. Always dry by morning. I love merino wool.

Bring back the merino, stop with the nylon
I purchased some more of my favorite underwear - only to find out that the brand has moved from 100% merino to 83% Merino Wool/ 12% Nylon/ 5% Elastane, Exclusive of decoration for these. Terrible. Wondered why the quality was bad and they were smelly, come to read the tag and find out. I wish I could start a petition to bring back 100% merino underwear. Customer lost until they return the underwear that i had been buying for years.
