Tent is okay but get a trailer
The tent has a strong chemical smell and comes with a warning about Dichloromethane but hopefully that will improve after we air it out for a few days. We also had a bent hinge but we were able to repair it ourselves. I’m actually surprised there was not more damage because the box it came in was not strapped down so the corners were falling apart and the tent had been floating freely in there. Also, make sure you expect to take a day off work for the freight company to NOT deliver the tent, rent your own trailer, and go pick it up yourself so you don’t take another day off. Overall, even with the smell, I would buy the tent again, just not from Backcountry. I paid freight shipping for something I had to pick up myself and the customer service every time I called was so terrible it’s embarrassing. I would send this back but I’m sure I’ll have to pay freight shipping a second time so I’m just going to try and enjoy my tent even though the experience has been so miserable.
