The hardcap in the knee comes from the innovative German company, SAS-TEC, that holds high respect in the motorcycle industry for creating some of the most resilient protection — and with a background in high-speed safety we're comfortable asserting that its designers know a thing or two about how to keep us safe.

A solid knee pad it's got to do more than protect, though, it has to fit well, too, so a lot of thought was put into the comfort of this pad. Ion's designers built the pad with an X-shaped snug-loop strap on the back of the calf that uses sticky-skin neoprene to lock its self onto your calf for no slip when pedaling, silicone grippers at the top and bottom, two adjustable hook-and-loop straps for dialing in the fit, and an open back for letting your knees breathe. The pads are made from lightweight neoprene that lets heat escape while protecting your skin all around.
