MICROspikes Traction System

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I throw these in my pack every winter. Whether I’m heading up a frozen trail or just navigating an icy parking lot, they’re clutch. Easy to pull on and off, great grip, and they stay in place way better than cheaper spikes I’ve used."

Snow-packed switchbacks, frozen riverbanks, icy parking lots—when winter turns slick, we stay upright with the Kahtoola MICROspikes Traction System. Designed for quick deployment and secure grip, this system transforms trail shoes or boots into ice-ready footwear with a few simple steps. Whether we're out hiking, fishing, walking the dog, or harvesting ice, MICROspikes provide the confident footing we need to move naturally through winter terrain.

Twelve stainless steel spikes per foot bite into hardpack and ice, while the durable elastomer harness stretches easily over most footwear without slipping. Updates like reinforced eyelets, an integrated toe bale, and a slimmed-down profile make this the most refined MICROspikes yet. And when the terrain shifts, they stow easily in the included tote sack until it’s time to grip up again.
