Nice compact durable. Easy to pack and had a good flow rate. I took this on a wild land fire deployment

Handy
Carried this with me out elk hunting this year and it was very handy to have. Didn't have to carry a ton of water just filled up every time i crossed a creek. Love it

Broke this in while summiting The Grand Teton and it was a major hit and kept me hydrated up and down.

Great filter!
This is an all around great filter. I have been using Katadyn filters for a number of years and have never been disappointed. I use them all year round here in the mountains of NH. Works great even in below zero temps during winter mountaineering trips. The best advice is to pre-soak the filter before heading out on your trip. This will help the water go thru the filter easier. Great Filter - Why is Black More Expensive?
First of all, this is an excellent water filter. The BeFree is the best on the market in my opinion. It has a great flow through the filter and the bag is easy to fill in a stream vs plastic ones. The best part is you don't need to backflush but instead just rinse the entire filter under water or in the bag. I purchased the black version but don't understand what makes this one more expensive - just the aesthetic? You can' go wrong, but just note the price difference.

My new go-to water filtration option
This is a game changer! An instant staple of my camping/hiking/travel kit. Packable down to almost nothing while capable of holding 1 liter of water. The filter is effective, quick working, and simple. I use it to filter and fill up my other water bottles while camping. I ran very silty water through it on my last hike and the water came out 100% clear, instantly. Again, I can’t emphasize enough, this is one of the things that will automatically get thrown into my backpack for every future trip.

My go to water filter for every outdoor activity. The collapsible bottle stores easily and takes up very little room. Love that I can drink straight from the bottle or squeeze it into another container. The wide mouth makes it much easier to collect water over the Sawyer micro squeeze. I prefer the black version as it feels a little more durable over the regular version

Great for backpacking as it takes up very little space and is extremely light. Used it this weekend, filtered three bottles of lake water for my trip. Glad I bought it!

I switched from the Platypus, to Grayl to this
The flow rate was exceptional and the price is hard to beat. In consideration the cost of filters on the grayl as well as the frequency of changing topped with overall weight; the befree just overshadowed it and really warranted the switch. Do pay attention to care procedures though as that will greatly effect your experience.
