Hiker Water Microfilter

Efficient and durable purification for the backcountry! It works well especially when needing to fill water for several people back at camp. Even with some questionable water sources I have found this to still provide top notch filtration. This is perfect for any level of outdoor enthusiast needing reliable water when not near clean water sources. Light and small enough for a variety of expeditions.

Best filter hands down.

I’ve been using this design for over 20 years. I’ve owned the MSR miniworks, and a katadyn befree bag. This is the filter if you have more than 1 person and are pumping from streams and lakes. It works well every time. Food grade silicone tubing can be used if something happens to the original tubes. Filter replacement is a piece of cake. No substitutes for the old Pur design, it works like a clock.

Quick, easy, and not too heavy

I am an avid water drinker on hikes and in the back country, so having a fast working water filter was one of the most important things to me in my gear build up. It is not as lightweight as other filtration systems and can take up more space than one might like, but for me I will gladly take less space in order to carry this with me. I can fill my 3 liter bladder in less than five minutes, and the water is crisp and clear. I tell all my water loving friends to make the investment in this product, and I extend that message here!

Tested but Have not Used in the Field

My trip ended up getting canceled so I did not have a chance to use this filter in the field. I tested it before we were supposed to leave and it functioned great. It's small and lightweight and pumped at a pretty good rate. I'd recommend this product just based on the test alone.

The first trip in the back country my new filter failed, cut my trip short. Got home and called Katadyn, told them what happened and they got me a new replacement filter the next day. Working great now. Customer service is the sign of a good company, Katadyn was great!!

Compact filter. Pumps easily. 45 pumps to fill a quart bottle. Only negative is filter life is less than 50 gallons ((advertised at 200 gallons), and this was filtering clean river water in the Wind River Wilderness.

The katadyn hiker is one of the most popular water filters for hikers and campers. The product is easy to use and clean, it also has a great compact design and travel bag.

Love this filter

Pumps water quickly (much faster than a squeeze filter). Setup and breakdown is a bit more of a process though so I tend to use this filter if I'm going to be filtering for multiple people, like a backpacking trip with friends, and a squeeze for solo missions. Easy to use, would recommend.

Katadyn water filters are always my go-to, usually use this one for base camping/canoe camping over backpacking just because of the weight but a favorite nonetheless!

I have been using a version of this filter for 10+ years. It works great pumps water at a great speed and cleans eaily. Have placed quick release on intake and output so I can hook directly to my hydration bladder with out taking out of my pack. The filter seems to last quite a while with proper care and prefiltering water. It's more reliable than my old MSR filter and easier to pump. Really like this filter
