Great filter---a little heavy.

This filter is built to last. That's why I spent more to buy it. The sturdy build is a great feature and really, one of the only drawbacks--it's a little heavy. I feel like Katadyn would benefit from a video of how to use and care for the filter. They could even put a QR code on the side for first-time users. I found a good fan-made video that taught me a lot. I found that the pump was easiest to use in the sitting position. Lots of elbow grease needed, but very effective. I see this filter lasting for years to come and I can't wait! NOTE- On day two, after taking it apart, it stopped pumping. I took it apart a few times and put it back together, but I was worried I had a lemon. After 3 or 4 times doing that, it started pumping again. Almost certainly user error--- just a heads up.

Works perfectly, although a bit heavy for backpacking, the extra weight doesn’t bother me too much, for how well it works.

Easy to use, taken it backpacking in the alps. Filled many 1L bottles with it.

extremely high quality and heavy duty. functions very nicely. nice flow rate. comes with a travel pouch, some in/out hoses, a sinker/sediment filter for the in hose, a filter-life gauge, and a scrub pad to clean the filter. the main assembly is a very premium device. very happy with my purchase. will be used as an emergency filter and a long term backpacking/survival filter. hoping for a long life for this device!

I have used this filter for the past 18 years both OCONUS and CONUS. This is by far the best, most reliable portable manual water filter there is. I have filtered from numerous sources of water in Asia/Southeast Asia and from everything in the backcountry in the America's to include cattle tanks and have not had any waterbourne illnesses while using this filter. Katadyn is the gold standard when it comes to all forms of water treatment and at this price, you cannot beat it anywhere else. A little research on water treatment will help you with knowing its capabilities, its maintenance requirements and preventing cross contamination but other than that, don't hesitate.

Recently purchased the Katadyn Pocket Water Microfilter. This filter is excellent quality and works as advertised. It is definitely more expensive than I preferred but well worth the price! I am glad I invested in a filter that will last.

This is a really nice and well built filter. I am impressed with the quality and for the amount of filtration it does, it is hard to beat for the price. Warranty is very good and if you purchase a second filter unit it should last a good 10 years or more! I think with a second filter it would be filtering 62,000 liters! Or 17,000 gallon. Each filter filtering 32,000 liters or right at 8,500 gallons of water is quite impressive. Great product quality and price. The unit really speaks for itself!
