Why We Like The Targhee II Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot
Lacing up the Keen Men's Targhee Mid II Hiking Boot feels like shifting our feet into four-wheel drive. Their four-millimeter lugs grab rough terrain, while the waterproof and breathable Keen.Dry insert keeps our feet dry. The dual-density, compression-molded EVA midsoles cushion and absorb shock so we can return to the trailhead without achy feet. The mid-height cut protects our ankle from rolls and twists, and Keen's heel support structure cups the heel so we experience less slippage and blisters.

I had high hopes for these.
I like how comfortable the boot is/was but not the durability. I bought these in September of 2023 and the traction part of the sole started separating from the left boot in October of 2024. Since it was after the warranty I have been using superglue to try to get a little more wear out of them. I only wore them hiking a couple of times and the trails weren’t tough. These saw more concrete and asphalt than anything else and they weren’t my main shoe to wear. Before these I wore Merrill hikers. I had a four year old pair of Merrill’s that went on a longer hike in Montana than hikes these saw combined. Both the same price point. Before buying these I had read a review by someone else that had the same problem but I thought they must have mistreated those. Well that’s not the case. I will tell you that these really feel great on my feet and I wish they would have held up better.

Eh
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not impressed with the quality of materials and craftsmanship. Your product quality has diminished over the past few years. This will be my last Keen purchase

Perfect winter walking shoe
I love this model. My local store doesn't carry them. Keen online has been a lifesaver for shoe shopping.

I would have loved to
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have loved to wear them. Your size app was wrong. I ordered the size suggested and they were to big. I am surprised you did not have the option to get the right size built right in.

I have owned the same
I have owned the same shoes in the past the only issue I have with them is that the soles wear out too fast and come apart . before the rest of the shoe is worn out,but they are a great comfortable pair of shoes.

Used to be better, wish it was a flatter heel drop
I had a pair of these years ago that lasted forever so when I needed a new pair of shoes for general hiking and some everyday wear in the winter and fall I picked up another pair of the Targhee's. These are not quite the same as my old ones. Keens have always had very hard insoles in my opinion and these are not any softer although claiming to be a better insole. They also must have changed the heel to toe drop on these. If I am wearing them around town as an everyday work shoe or on just flat ground and not hiking up a hill I feel like these are pushing/leaning me forward constantly and kill my knees and heels after a few hours of wear.

Don’t take my word listen to other customers
I have bought several boots over past 4yrs or more. The first pair I got lasted better than year which is saying something because I’m hard on them do to the kind of work I do. Now sole of that shoe never did come apart, but every boot I got after that one the soles come apart with in 3 to 5 months. I’ve read several reviews and there’s a common theme the soles are coming apart and have been for several years. Which tells me you’re not addressing the issue. It’s a tripping hazard for me and it ticks me off when that happens. It’s not rocket science go back to the glue or contact cement that you used 4 or 5 years ago. I used contact cement to repair the sole so I can get close to a years use out of them. I shouldn’t have to do that. I’m starting to look elsewhere for a good pair work/play boots. I hope you will all take a hard look at it. Your reputation is on the line.

Nice boots!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these to wear when training for search and rescue, or when on a mission. I was able to wear them all day, straight out of the box. I bet they will feel even better after they break in a bit. Wore them in mud and snow. My feet were dry and comfortable.
