Cushioning is lost prematurely.
I recall reviewing Keen footwear and telling about how they're a good shoe out of the box, but how longevity leaves a lot to be desired. Cas in point. I have this shoe, Men's Targhee IV Wide Wat. . . Dark Olive/Gold Flame. It was great. I alternate my shoes so as not to develop sores. These still look like new, but the cushioning is gone. I can no longer wear them. I think I bought them last summer. With rotating them as I do, they should have lasted much longer. I guess I'll use them as slippers now.

Shoes was good
The shoes fit my feet perfectly and I loved them. I hated wearing mismatched shoes because the length of the left and right laces, the printing on the inside of the shoes, and the color and shape were different. When the shoes were made, they didn't seem to be made on the same batch. Also, they were made to match each other on during a sale

Targhee Wide Hikers
These new hikers took a few days to break in with the stiffer soles but they are perfect now, very comfortable and I really like them but I did put in new insoles the ones that came with them weren't all that great with almost no cushioning.

Still in the box, but
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still in the box, but I also own 2 other pairs different styles. I Wouldn't think of going to another brand

Heavy
Decent shoe but feels plasticy and is very heavy for crew height.

Shoes are great, insoles could be better
I've been a fan of Keen's wider toe-box for years and have owned several pairs. No complaints. It would be nice, however, if they came with better and more substantial insoles. I always swap out the factory provided ones with Superfeet or other similar brands. But replacement insoles are stupidly expensive for some mass produced layers of foam and plastic. Would be nice if the shoes came with a pair of good ones so I didn't feel compelled to shell out more money.

There is little cushioning. I
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is little cushioning. I have developed calluses on both sides of my feet. Is there any cushioning to add to relieve the pain?

Cut too short on length
Not sure why a 14 can't be a 14, but for some reason I've never figured out, shoe makers need to try to make these shoes "smallish" and then they don't fit. It's odd because other Keens I buy fit great, others are too small, hard to figure out.

upgrade
size and appearance are great, I just hope the soles don't come apart (delaminate) like the III do.
