Why We Like The Targhee II Mid Hiking Boot
Lacing up the Keen Targhee Mid II Hiking Boots before a trail run is like shifting our feet into four-wheel drive. Their 4mm lugs grab rough terrain, while the waterproof and breathable Keen.Dry insert keeps our feet comfortably dry.
The dual-density, compression-molded EVA midsoles cushion and absorb shock so you can return to the trailhead without achey feet. The mid-height cut protects your ankle from rolls and twists, and Keen's heel support structure cups your heel so you experience less slippage and blisters.

Always good for me!
This is probably my seventh pair of the exact same boot and I am as happy now as I was with the first pair. I really abuse my boots with everything you can think of and I àm happy to put them on again every morning. When I was teaching (35 years) I wore them every day from first frost to the first 75* day. Always good .

Even better fit than before
This is my 4th pair of Targhee II hikers and the fit is even better than previous pairs. I have a longer toe on my left foot that always bumps into the front of any shoe I wear, but not this pair. I wear an 8. 5 and this is true to size with plenty of room for a slightly thicker winter sock. The sole feels more supportive when I walk too. I always wear down the heel cushioning of my hikers so I'll be interested to see if this pair holds up better than the last few.

Love my Targhee II
Right out of the box the Targhee II was comfortable, wore them for several hours and had no pain anywhere! I have a lot of osteoarthritis and halix rigiditus in my big toes so finding shoes that are comfortable is extremely difficult but these are awesome!!!

I have bought keen boots
I have bought keen boots for years, but this pair came with a defect in the right toe box. I’m very disappointed.

Not available on wide sizes
Love the shoe but can’t get one to fir because they don’t make a women’s wide. Will have to buy a men’s version.

Good boots
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had the Targhee III boots that unfortunately didn't hold up well for me. Keen was super helpful in refunding them for me and I purchased style as a replacement. These boots seem like they will hold up very well. The waterproofing is very good, I've gone on hikes through tall grass with very heavy dew and came back with dry feet. They only lost one star because the Targhee III fit me better and was more comfortable. I feel like these boots just don't have as much room in the toes. These are the same size as my Targhee III 's but I would have gone half a size bigger with the Targhee II 's

Impressive durability and comfort
I've owned these boots for eight years and have put some punishing miles on them. Considering the all-day downpours, snow, and muddy, soggy trails I've hiked in, I am amazed that I have never once gotten wet feet. These boots have worn well since day one. The only discomfort I've ever experienced was due to a poor choice of socks, which were too loose. Recently, a half-inch chunk of the sole traction got torn off after I scraped around on some rough rocks. The boots definitely show their use with scratches on the rubber and leather, but they are still functional and waterproof. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate gear that can be used well and hard and still hold up for so long. I will be replacing them soon because of the sole damage, which I attribute to my being rough rather than any fault of the boot. Although I would not hesitate to buy this boot again, I am considering Kenetrek or Lowa boots too as I have heard excellent reviews of both. In reality, I just like switching things up. If you are looking for a light, waterproof, all-round hiking boot, the Targhee II's performance and price is unbeatable.
