Why We Like The Cosmic 20 Sleeping Bag
In the shoulder seasons, when nights on the trail feel extra chilly, we roll out the Kelty Cosmic 20 Sleeping Bag. The trapezoidal baffles better retain body heat, and the extra roomy foot box gives us freedom to shift around. When breaking down camp, this lightweight bag packs down nice and small in the included stuff sack.

I really like it!! I am even considering buying another one for my partner. I am 5'6" and the short size is perfect for me. Haven't tried it on any very cold nights but I was warm enough with layers in 40 and 50 degree weather.

NOT at all warm to rated temp of 20deg

Not warm enough, at all! Nearly froze below 40degrees, as we had a hard freeze at 28deg for morning low. Luckily I had a backup bag for a blanket. This 20 deg bag good for 40deg, no lower! A bit tight I the shoulders for my liking as other reviews stated?!

Reasonably Priced, warm and packs down!

Bought it recently because I've been getting into camping/backpacking and was getting sick of rentals. I've used it a couple of times and have only had good experiences. The plastic lining next to the zipper on the inside of the bag makes zipping and unzipping the bag from the inside and outside very easy. Long bag is perfectly sized for me (6 1ish)

I bought this sleeping bag for a trip to Grayson Heights in Virginia. Slept in a shelter on the AT. Woke up to 18-25° windchill, but stayed warm all through the night. Also used this to sleep in 40° weather, as well. 0 complaints.

I've had this bag for about ten years, and it's done now than it's job in all sorts of climates. Top of Mt Whitney sleeping out in the open, nice and toasty. Early February at pinnacles np around 27°f, nice and toasty. Utah, high Sierra, Tanzania, etc. Etc. Great bag.

Purchased for use camping in CO in the fall. Temps were in mid 30s. Bag is super comfortable and kept me warm even when sleeping on floor of tent with just a sleeping pad underneath. Great bag at a good price point. Only 4 stars because it might be just a little bulky when packed for an extended stay in backcountry but I think you can manage when paired with a super light packable tent.
