Why We Like The Klymit Static V Sleeping Pad
No one actually sleeps without moving, and it's never fun to wake up on the cold and uncomfortable ground, so get some shuteye on the Klymit Static V Sleeping Pad. It's nearly two feet wide, offering room to wiggle, and it features dynamic side rails to keep campings from rolling off the pad while they dream. The V-chamber design is optimized to keep you comfortable and warm with the minimum amount of material, too, so the Static V weighs just about one pound and compresses to the size of a water bottle for easy packing.

Haven’t used yet
It inflates really easy and packs down small in a bag. That’s all I know. I’ll be interested to see how it performs over time.

Won’t travel without it
Awesome sleeping pad as long as you aren’t too worried about insulation. I bring this with me whenever I travel internationally (in carry on) and it comes in handy a ton. I’ve slept in multiple airports on it while everyone else was on the floor or trying to get comfortable on the benches. I’ve slept on it on bamboo mats in Japanese hostels to add some comfort. I’ve slept in a random spot in the alps when I didn’t get to the refuge I was planning for the night. A night under an overpass on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage and I’ve done about 45 nights of car camping with it. Never had any leaks or holes, although I’m careful to almost always have a tarp or tent footprint underneath. The valve is awesome. It’s the most comfortable sleeping pad I’ve ever slept on and the smallest. The only thing I would change is I’d like one that’s 3/4 length to make it even more packable.

Warm season only
This is a pretty comfortable sleeping pad for a side sleeper such as myself, however it is only good during the summer months. I went on a late summer backpacking trip and it snowed and the temps dropped significantly during the night time. This pad lost its air during the night due to the cold, and didn't stop any of the cold air form coming through to my body. I run cold at night, and it did not feel super great! I would likely bring this pad again in the warm months if the weather isn't destined to drop significantly. Some benefits is that it is quick to inflate/deflate and its pretty lightweight.

Klymit - Static V Recon Sleeping Pad
In my honest opinion, this pad is okay. It gets the job done. Once you inflate it, good luck trying to pack it back up into the carrying case. It is impossible to get all of the air out. It does deflate throughout the use. If you roll slight either way, it is not comfortable. Regardless, it beats sleeping on the bare floor.

Minimal, yet comfortable
The reviews were right - this pad is remarkably comfortable despite its minimal footprint. Slept well.

Wish I got to use it!
I had purchased this for a hike on the West Highland Way in Scotland but British Airways lost two of my bags. This was in one. I had to buy all new gear. However, that being said I've used it locally a few times and as the "standard" of camping pads it didn't let me down. Light, easy to use and deflate. Recommend.

Great size and quality! Packs down small. Air valve is also designed perfect and takes ~20 seconds to blow up by mouth.

Durable and affordable
This is a durable, quality, affordable sleeping pad. It lasted me 8 years through many backpacking and car camping trips until it developed a slow leak. Luckily, it has a limited lifetime warranty, and after filing a claim online, they sent me a new pad. Worth the buy! If you tend to sleep cold, you should buy an insulated version instead.
