Not for someone with a belly

I had purchased other fleece jackets from another retailer over the past 2 decades and wanted to try something else. Backcountry usually has a wide variety of clothing items so I decided to start my search here. I did not realize that this jacket contained wool when I ordered it and initially I thought that it would be too heavy for my intended use (Spring and Fall in Colorado), however, after wearing it in temps in the 50-60 degree range, I decided to keep it. I ordered the large since the XL was not in stock and it fits fine without binding anywhere. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and the 4 star rating relates to a shipping snafu, not the product which is 5*s.

Warm breathable sweater

I had the predecessors to this sweater for six years before my wife destroyed it in a washing machine accident. Was my favorite sweater for outdoor activities. So far I like this new version even better. It keeps me warm but not sweaty across a range of activity levels. It does run large and it is thick. The lining allows it to slide well over flannel.

Too stiff

Not soft enough. Doesn’t stay close to the body when you move or raise your arms. Bulging a bit along the zipper. Maybe it’s ok as an outer layer, but not as a fleece sweater. Good quality otherwise.

Thicker and warmer than a standard lightweight fleece. Runs slightly large. If you’re on the edge between sizes, order the smaller size. Very warm, thicker fleece. Maneuverability is good for the thickness of the jacket, but not as good as some of the more lighter weight fleeces. Only have had it for 2 weeks, so not sure on durability yet.

Literally exceeded all expectations. This might become my most favorite Kuhl sweater ever...it certainly looks as though it will last me several years. It is slightly larger size-wise and much thicker than the interceptr. It's advertised as ski wear, but I live in the Pacific Northwest, and while I don't ski, this will be a go-to piece on many a chilly evening come winter. I think it looks great too (my wife agrees). Sure, a pocket for the phone would have been nice, but I don't feel I have any room for complaint -- it's a great sweater at a very reasonable price. Super satisfied.
