Why We Like The Akasha II Running Shoe
Grittier than its predecessor, the Akasha II goes harder, following us into longer distances and more technical terrain. The updated upper still gives us optimal airflow and flex but now with a beefier exoskeleton that brushes off overgrown singletrack and shields our toes and heels from bruisers when bounding over scree.

1/2 size UP
- Familiarity:

I wore la sportiva TX4 R and TX4 in 45, Hoka Mafate Speed 4 (US 11.5), but 45 in Akasha II is too tight and narrow, tried 45.5 and it's fine.

Love the comfort

It's really hard to find very good fitting shoes. So I was really surprised how perfect they fit . I did also try La Sportiva Ultra Raptor II and they were even a little better, butI still decided to go with this one. They don't dissapoint. I took them for 8 miles hike in rocky terrain when I often hike. So I could compare them to various shoes I did use before And they are very comfortable. I always buy hiking or running shoes in number 9 but this I really HAVE to go with 9.5 That's never happened with any shoes I did use before.

Simply put this is the best all-around long distance running and hiking shoe I have found. I have 30k's on aggressive terrain and backpacked off-trail in these. Great shoe.

Great Long Distance Mountain Shoe

This was my training and racing shoe for a season of long, steep, mountain races. While a bit on the heavier side it doesn't feel heavy on the feet. The ride is on the firmer side, but still has a little bounce. Not nearly as soft as the SG, but I more than the Sense Ride 4. It is extremely stable and has excellent protection. This shoe left me with no blisters and all my toenails after my midsummer race tallying 55+ miles and 17K feet of elevation gain. I've put ~400 miles into the them and they're still going strong. I anticipate easily getting 600 miles out of them, probably a little more. While you could certainly find a lighter shoe, this will do a great job if you're looking for a stable, durable, and protective shoe with excellent traction. For sizing - use European sizing for reference. I stuck with Euro 43 which was spot on. If I would've gone with US 9.5, I would've been disappointed.
