Why We Like The La Sportiva Prodigio Trail Running Shoe
When laced in the Prodigio Trail Running Shoe, our stride takes flight. Outfitted with La Sportiva's newly developed XFlow foam, this shoe offers more padding and more energy than traditional EVA midsoles while lowering the gram count, giving us nothing but pure performance. As we race above the treeline, the strong yet breezy mesh upper wicks away sweat and dries off quick, and the sole's dual rubber compound sticks to rocks and chews up earth, ensuring nothing can distract us from our flow.

Most comfortable shoe on the planet!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 9.5
The perfect amount of cushion and so comfortable, I don't want to take them off. I don't like too much cushion it hurts my knees. This running shoe is responsive, lightweight, supportive and sooo comfortable to just wear around on vacation and getting a lot of steps in. I ordered a 1/2 size bigger then I normally buy and thought it was perfect and roomy. The blue color is so pretty too I didn't want to get them dirty!

Wide toe-box, performance fit
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

I have been an Altra Lone Peak hiker for years, and use La Sportiva for approach shoes but can only wear the TX 3 and 4 due to how wide my foot it in the toe box. I don't like the baggy fit of Altras for some hikes, and was looking for something with more of a performance fit. The La Sportiva Prodigo is the shoe I was looking for. It fits great, with plenty of room in the forefoot, but has a good design and lacing and fits well through the rest of the shoe.

I just received these shoes and decided to test them on a 10 mile run this morning. I love them! Super comfortable and supportive but minimalist enough to have good stability on rocky/loose terrain. I’ll have to test them next on a trail with more elevation gain/loss to see how traction is and support down hill but so far I’m really happy. I’ve never been a “runner” so I don’t know anything about stride, strike or all that jazz. When I do run I want something lightweight but supportive and these are doing it for me! Sometimes shoes that are more on the minimalist side make my calves/Achilles hurt. I had no issues with that today.

Fast, responsive shoes!

I love the Prodigios! Was a big fan of the Helio 3 and the Akasha and saw this prototype when I was in Europe last year - the rep described it as kind of a combination of the two shoes. Really liked the flex and speedy feel of the Helios but thought they could use a little little more cushioning, and also loved the Akashas but thought they could use a little more flex. The prodigios have a good amount of flex and feel super lightweight, but they also feel more cushioned and responsive, like a good daily trainer for fast or easy efforts on trails. Super happy with them! My only complaint is that for me the size wasn't consistent with my other la Sportivas - I ended up getting two pairs a half size apart and they each fit but one I'll definitely use for longer days when my feet might swell and the other definitely for shorter runs because the fit is more ideal from the start. Not necessarily a la Sportiva problem as I am probably slightly between sizes.
