I don’t normally write reviews, but normally I have shoes last me more than 8 hikes. I bought these because I was going on several multiday treks in New Zealand. They seemed to have good water proofness. I wore them several times at home to break them in, they are quite stiff. I was generally happy with them. The second reason I bought them over leather boots because they are light weight. However, on our first day out in New Zealand, walking on a road, I scuffed a rock and the toe box split right open (see image). Turns out the rubber material covering the toe box is much thinner than paper. Then integrity of the toe box was then gone as well as the water proofness. Now I had really expensive shoes that were pretty much worthless and on a 4-day trek. We will see if La sportiva will replace them? I haven’t had much luck with them in the past. Don’t make my mistake, buy something else! These are cheap and will fall apart.

Excellent shoe for hiking!

I tested these boots out while hiking in the snow with temperatures in the high 20s/low 30s degree F. They performed well! With a pair of Darn Tough cushioned hiking socks, I was able to hike for hours with dry feet. Will admit that around the 4th hour I felt a little cold in the toes but otherwise the boots kept me dry and warm. I am always a solid size 10 in women's, what I purchased, and the boots fit nicely with a simple athletic sock. I was initially worried that they wouldn't feel as comfortably with a thicker hiking sock but the shoe fit well with those too (and that includes a Darn Tough thermal mountaineering sock -- didn't hike in those but tested them for sizing). My toes did not feel pinched or crowded. Have recommended these to other hikers and would buy again.

In love with these boots!

The rubber sole and tread has incredible grip on the trail! Great toe guard, light boots, plenty of room to wiggle your toes, and these are pretty on the eyes. I like the overall feel of these boots. These are my first pair of La Sportiva's and I'm impressed! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the thin shoe laces.

Great comfy boots but not for me

They fit and were comfortable right out of the box. Be sure to use the sizing chart for the correct size. I am a Womans 8 which is 39.5 and they fit perfectly. They are very lightweight, comfortable, and very flexible, like sneakers. I need a more firm sole with less flex.

Some things are great, but blisters!
I don't normally wear hiking boots, and prefer trail runners even on multi-day backpacking trips. However, I needed some boots for a 4-day trip to a rainy, muddy, cool-weather destination. I like that these boots have a wider toe area and are lightweight but sturdy. They felt comfortable overall. However, they give me weird blisters on the bottom of my big toes after lots of miles (12+). I've never had shoes that give me blisters in that place! I wore them when I had to and was grateful for them, but switched to my trail runners when I could.

Best hiking boots

- 7.5
I don’t need to break it in, it’s very comfy and definitely will bring me to all the trails with no problem. I usually wear size 7, but I ordered 7.5 as La Sportiva is the only Italian outdoor company that seem to be smaller than my usual size. But I love everything about this boots. I’ve been eyeing it for awhile. Glad I got them now

Great lightweight shoe

I bought these after my husband saw these. They are light like a running shoe, but have more support, especially in the ankle. I have done several hikes in these so far and love them!
