Lezyne Road Drive Pump
If you’ve broken a pump, or worse, a valve core, while frantically trying to fill your tube on the side of the road, you’ll appreciate Lezyne’s Flex Hose design found on the Road Drive Pump. The Flex Hose allows you to attach the holes to the valve, then pump air into the tube without worrying about being at just the right angle. On top of that, the Road Drive is capable of returning your tires to 160psi, so you won’t be handicapped by a soft tire for the rest of your ride.

Nice design
- Familiarity:

I love the flexible hose attachment so that there's less worry about damaging the tube at the valve stem while you're trying to get back on the road quickly.

Part of a larger "pump solution"

Got one of these in the Large 12" size, figuring the small additional weight was worth it for faster pumping. To make sure I pump up enough to avoid a pinch flat, I wanted a pressure gauge, so I replaced the hose with an ABS Pen Gauge, available here. Pricey, but I mitigated the cost by having just one pump, switching it between my winter and summer bikes as needed. Lezyne sells pumps with digital gauges, but the battery might go dead between uses and the accuracy of the mechanical gauge is adequate for me. [The ABS Pen Gauge product description here says it lacks a vent button, which is incorrect. My pen gauge has one, and it's visible in the picture in the product listing] Don't like putting something so long and hard in my jersey pockets, so I got bottle cages with pump "holsters" molded into the side Lezyne sells two: Flow Cage HP for the budget-minded and Road Drive Cage Carbon for the weight-minded. Both work well, I have one of each between my two bikes. They are sized for the diameter of Road Drive pumps. Thankfully, not many flats lately so haven't needed to use it much.

Good pump, so far

I just purchased this pump and have tested it to pump up my tires. I bought it specifically for its flexible hose apparatus after nearly breaking a valve stem using a hand pump that didn't have a hose. So far I like it; good delivery of air for a hand pump and with the hose I don't have to worry about twisting or breaking a valve stem as is the case with other hand pumps. I do advise reading Joe's comment from June 2015 about how to properly use the pump so that it doens't damage the valve stem. I bought the largest one, which is 12" in length. Fits in a back jersey pocket, though sticks out a bit and is too long for most top-tube bags. Might want to consider a medium to avoid these two issues though will have a bit less air delivery.
