The 104 Blade Optic is described as a charger, Line's "Big Mountain" ski. Of course it has a bigger brother that would be more adequate for big mtn, I get that. I got the Blade Optic for a in bound charger, thinking all the metal and weight would create a confident ride. This ski feels confused. Heavy, stiff as heck under foot, and classic Line cooked noodle tips and tails. Your tails will not support you and the tips chatter a lot. When I'm charging the run out of a drop or thru some bumps/chop, I feel like my tips and tails are unreliable and flopping around, but my underfoot feels good. It doesn't invoke confidence. Maybe it's the thick sidewall, but it does feel a little cumbersome edge to edge and not nimble, as listed in the description. All that said, this ski can be fun! I haven't been on a ski that skis switch as well as this since my Blends, and that's a plus! I think we have to remember that this is Line, a park brand, and they are going to bring a park flavor to all mtn. It's not a charger stiff ski. It's a stiff underfoot ski with loose, unsupportive tips and tails that allow for good buttering, and that's rad. Not the best of either category, or even close. I just wish it was marketed more accurately
