Why We Like The Mad Rock Rover Climbing Shoe
The Mad Rock Rover Climbing Shoe is a one-shoe quiver for the gym. With a medium flex and a moderate downturn, this pair strikes a balance between performance and comfort, while the toe inset boosts edging performance, and the ridged heel increases bite on heel hooks.

Surprised

These were my first climbing shoes and I have to say they are a perfect y transition to a higher level shoe. Comfy and not too aggressive. Keep a look out for the toe box, it may just be my foot shape but it did graze the side of my big toe a good amount. Stick to your day to day shoe size, it’s sized down a bit just as the rentals would be. Still I very much recommend it as a step up to a higher level of climbing

Great all rounder shoe

This shoe is a very good inexpensive all rounder. I was looking for a cheap beater shoe for the gym so I don't wear out my other shoes on more specific climbs. Fore foot fits my medium to wide feet fine. Heel is really nice and snug and much better than the Scarpa Origins & Reflex (42.5) I've tried where the heel slingshot rand pulls tight on the back of my Achilles/Heel causing pain. Compared to tarantulas/laces (40.5), heel feels a bit more snug and the fore foot is wider on the MadRocks. Other shoes I wear, Evolv Shaman & Zenists (US 10.5), Scarpa Instinct VSR (42.5), Ocun Ozone HV (US 9.5).
