Why We Like The MT7 Pro Disc Brake
Braking performance is extremely important when it comes to downhill riding, and the MT7 Pro Disc Brake is our top pick for a high-performance brake. The MT7 Pro features a 4-piston caliper, a radial master design, and a Carbotecture SL brake master, all of which combine to bring us a durable, lightweight, and easy to modulate braking system. Your hands will like it, too, thanks to the ergonomically shaped 1-finger HC lever blade that ensures optimal comfort while hitting the brakes.

nightmare
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This product has been a nightmare since day one. 30 hours of riding and I've put in 10 hours of trying to fix the brakes. Then I call them to see about RMA, and the guy gold me not only does Magura not service/RMA, no one in the bike industry, nor anyone in the computer industry, nor anyone in the electronics industry does that. I was so dumbfounded at the level of condescending stupidity I just gave up entirely. Got rid of my MT7s and will be recommending no one I come across to use this brand.

Flimsy levers!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I’ve had these brakes for only 3 months and in that time have broken two levers. The little retaining spring (not the breakaway tab) has been the cause of failure both times without any crashes or impacts. My old sram brakes saw multiple rough hits and never had a problem. The stopping power is great and Magura did send me new levers, but I hate having to repair these levers so often.
