We backcountry skiers and splitboarders should know beacons like we know the back of our gloves, so Mammut designed the Barryvox Beacon with an incredibly intuitive design so we can master it quickly. It features a single switch, single button, and separate flagging button for simple, reliable handling that we got the hang of after a few beacon drills. With a triple antenna, the Barrvox boasts an impressive 70-meter digital range that's just as large as most top-end beacons out there.
The Barryvox shows distance, direction, and number of burial victims in an easy-to-see, goggle-friendly display. In search mode, the Barryvox automatically switches back into send mode if the beacon's been still for four minutes, just in case we get in an accident while looking for a victim. Mammut included alkaline batteries and a carry case that keeps the beacon close to your chest.

Excellent, simple beacon
Better at identifying direction and distance than other beacons I have used, simple intuitive interface. Seems robust as well.

Use this every time out in the back country. Super easy to use. Very easy to understand and identify when it’s picking up multiple beacons. Comes with a harness or an attachment if you pants/bib have a beacon tether. The battery life seems really good. Used multiple times this season and still has nearly full battery life. This seems to be the standard right for avy beacons and would highly recommend.

It’s the standard. Best range, and I haven’t heard of any recalls on the old version.

Barryvox avalanche beacon
The Barryvox is a great product that is easy to use and reliable. The Barryvox is a highly capable beacon that a novice user can easily operate. The directions on the screen are large and simple to follow. Excellent range, a highly accurate processor, and an easy-to-understand interface allow for speedy single-burial searches. The three-way switch is easy to operate, even one-handed, and doesn't require any fiddling to lock it into place. Its few features are right at your fingertips, and it doesn't require an app to access or adjust any settings — in fact, it has no settings to adjust.

Easy to use, comfortable in a pocket, super reliable.
I use this a ton, and have been loving it. I specifically switched from the Tracker S4 after I used the Barryvox on a cat skiing trip and found it to be far more reliable and quick to find a buried beacon. Not as fully featured as some beacons, I still think this is the perfect balance.

Simply a Beacon
It does not have the extra features that some of the others have but you turn it on and it works. Comes with a comfortable sling and batteries.

Avalanche Beacon
Well made, great product, easy of use. Had a few practice sessions with the beacon in the Alaska backcountry but luckily haven’t had to actually use it yet!
