We backcountry skiers and splitboarders should know beacons like we know the back of our gloves, so Mammut designed the Barryvox Beacon with an incredibly intuitive design so we can master it quickly. It features a single switch, single button, and separate flagging button for simple, reliable handling that we got the hang of after a few beacon drills. With a triple antenna, the Barrvox boasts an impressive 70-meter digital range that's just as large as most top-end beacons out there.
The Barryvox shows distance, direction, and number of burial victims in an easy-to-see, goggle-friendly display. In search mode, the Barryvox automatically switches back into send mode if the beacon's been still for four minutes, just in case we get in an accident while looking for a victim. Mammut included alkaline batteries and a carry case that keeps the beacon close to your chest.

I was upgrading my beacon and liked the ease of use of Mammut and reputation. I have now used twice while ski touring and appreciate the functionality and ease of use.

Best Transceiver for your everyday ski-tourer
The Barryvox is super easy and straight forward to use. The range and accuracy are great and the screen/functionality is really nice and simple and very user friendly. For those who don't need all of the features available on the Barryvox S (i.e. non-mountain professionals) this transceiver is really hard to beat. Having used BCA, Ortovox and BD transceivers in the past, I wouldn't currently use anything other than the Barryvox. I work for a Heli-Skiing company, and there's a reason we use the Barryvox for all of our guests and guides.

Simple and Reliable
I hope I never need to actually use this thing in an emergency, but it is intuitive to use in testing. I wouldn't use it if I didn't trust it in an emergency.

Exactly what is needed
When it comes to beacon, it needs to do the job, and do it well. The Barryvox has a simple UI that’s self explanatory. The batteries have lasted several days (maybe 10% loss in 6 days of touring). If you use the chest strap, it forces you to have the screen facing in, and automatically turns off search mode.. simple features to make sure you don’t slip up. I did some practice burials with it, and it swiftly found the buried beacon with ease.

Good range, functionality, reliability, and durability. Only knock is the speed compared to BCAs.

Great and Reliable
This is my second Barryvox and I can not be happier with this product. It’s small and light and the harness is comfortable. As someone who does 30-40 days touring a year i look for something that’s reliable and straightforward. I trust the Barryvox and look forward to using one for this upcoming season. It’s hard to find a beacon at a better price with as many features.
