Who is this small a 38?
This garment must have been marked wrong because it ain't no 38 and it couldn't be returned. My Mammut jacket I bought last year is awesome and I wanted to become a Mammut loyalist but alas, I cannot. I am a bigger guy these days and Mammut may not be the brand for my shape. I am broad-shouldered and my waistline is catching up to my shoulders much too quickly. The fabric of these shorts feels wonderful in my hands. Maybe next spring I can lose an inch and become a 37" inch waist then I might be able to wesr these shorts. If you are slender and in shape then these shorts are for you!

fit not what I hoped / shipping cost
They look super cool and made well but they are too tight and I was disappointed that I had to pay high shipping costs. I got two Items and they charged full shipping on each item.

Size way off
These are not even close to correct sizing, guess willgive them away. Had my son try who is two sizes smaller than me and still very tight. Would order up couple sizes if you want them to fit.

Tough, nicely tailored.
The wind goes right through these insuring coolness. They dry fast so as to be wearable in the water. They wear and pack very well; most versatile. Wearable for training, paddleboarding, canoeing. Amongst the best in backcountry shorts.

Beware of sizing
I went up a size based on many of the reviews and found them not to run as small as others have claimed. That said, the quality is amazing as usual from Mammut. They have the right amount of stretch and are very lightweight. However, quality is not sacrificed. The one other issue I have is the pockets are small, especially the hand pockets. Minor complaint.

Great shorts nice feel. Shorts run a little small though. 28 feels like it's a 26-27
