Stay light and warm with the Novus LT Jacket—breathable, packable, and ready for active adventures

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This jacket is perfect for days when I’m working hard in the backcountry. The PrimaLoft® insulation breathes well on steep climbs and still keeps me warm when I stop. It’s light, stretchy, and the durable ripstop fabric holds up to everything I throw at it."

The Marmot Novus LT Jacket is our go-to mid-layer for active pursuits, offering warmth, breathability, and durability in a lightweight design. Whether we’re skinning up backcountry ridges, bootpacking through fresh snow, or tackling technical climbing routes, this jacket moves with us. Its PrimaLoft® Silver Active insulation keeps us warm even when wet, ensuring we stay comfortable during transitions from uphill efforts to downhill thrills.

Built with flexible, abrasion-resistant ripstop fabric, the Novus LT holds up to tough conditions while maintaining excellent mobility, thanks to articulated elbows, gusseted underarms, and raglan sleeves. When the weather shifts, the PFC-free DWR-treated shell sheds light moisture, so we can confidently rock this layer solo. With secure zippered pockets and an adjustable hem to seal out drafts, this jacket is ready to take us from the trail to the summit and back again.

Mildly Disappointed

I am a huge fan of Marmot and own more products than I can count but this jacket is just okay. Would be better with a hood and a bit fuller cut. I will wear but not as much as I planned (walking in wetter weather with temps in 30s-40s).

A Lightweight Powerhouse for All-Season Adventures

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up the Marmot Novus LT Jacket during a sale, and overall, it’s been an excellent addition to my layering system. As someone who appreciates bold, vibrant gear, the color is... intriguing—somewhere between yellow and orange, without fully committing to either. It’s the only thing I wasn’t 100% sold on. That said, function outweighs fashion in the outdoors, and this jacket absolutely delivers where it counts. The Novus LT is impressively light and breathable, yet still warm enough for high-output missions in cold conditions. The PrimaLoft® Silver Active insulation works like a charm, keeping me warm even in damp or wet environments. Unlike down, it doesn’t lose performance when moisture creeps in—a huge plus when you're breaking a sweat on alpine starts or unexpected drizzle hits mid-route. Marmot nailed the design here: flexible ripstop fabric, gusseted underarms, and articulated elbows give it a great fit and full range of motion—ideal for climbing, hiking, or ski touring. Pockets are smartly placed, and the drawcord hem keeps cold air from sneaking in. Marmot has always been a go-to brand for dependable quality, and this jacket is no exception. Whether you're using it as a mid-layer under a shell or rocking it solo in mild conditions, the Novus LT punches way above its weight.

My favorite jacket of all time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's light, it's warm it's stylish, it's got 3 pockets! However, I use it between 40º - 60º weather and if it gets any colder it's light and thin enough to layer a hoodie under or a parka over it. It's versatile and made with quality.
