Why We Like The Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket

The Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket has become a fan favorite for a reason, boasting incredibly breathable waterproofing for trekking in wet weather. The NanoPro waterproof membrane blocks wind and water while allowing air to circulate, so whether we're pushing towards an alpine summit or walking in swampy forests, we stay cool on the move. The sealed seams keep moisture from sneaking in to our baselayers, and the adjustable hem and cuffs create a barrier from sideways blowing rain. In warm weather, we can unzip the underarm vents to allow hot air to escape, and the adjustable hood stows away into the collar for those moments when the sun breaks through the clouds, and we're rewarded with stunning views.

Stylish and practical

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very stylish, great hood. Fit is good Very comfortable, to wear, nice and light. Haven't had a chance to test whether the rainproofing works well. So far so good

Well thought out with solid construction.

Second one of these I’ve owned. It’s a well thought out rain jacket that’s solid yet not heavy or bulky. I got many years out of the first one and expect the same for this.

Bring back the bright colors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my favorite rain coat/cold weather wind breaker for bike riding.I have used one for years and just had to replace mine. I would give it a 5 but they no longer have any bright high visibility colors. Love the zipper pits, Velcro wrists and the storable hood.

My favorite packable shell

I find the Precip to be a great super light, multi use shell. It stows so small there is no reason not to take it. You’re ready for sun wind or rain. It ventilates well, closes up tight, not too noisy, and has pockets places low enough to put your hands in. I wear large shirts. The medium jacket fits perfectly over a fleece top with room move.

Woman reviewing this men’s rain, jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Small

I needed to replace my rain jacket that failed on a recent trip and in the style and type of jacket I wanted the colors that I wanted we’re not available so I decided to look into men’s rain jackets and went with the bright green. I am 5’3 right around 150 pounds and I am not small up top but I’ll spare some dudes that the full deets that might be reading this… Since I’m short, I’m mindful of sleeve length for sure so with the small I was hoping that I can get it zipped up and it is just fine… For a women’s rain jacket I likely would’ve got a medium or potentially a large based on reviews, but the men’s small seems to fit well with room for some layering like maybe a mid weight type of base. I do like all of the features on it, including the hood and the pit zips and the pockets. It’s working great and I definitely trust this brand just a heads up if there’s any other ladies considering a men’s because you like the colors better!

Great for Mountains and office

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought two of these - bright one for the trail and navy one for office. Looks good and gets job done. Kept dry, light, easily packable, and a great outer layer if mid layers are sufficient. Had a base layer, a hoodie, a light puffer, and then this jacket as outer layer and it worked perfectly. Re-affirmed my preference for this brand over others.

Simple, breathable, not toxic

I wanted an affordable rain jacket that wasn’t made with PFAS. I also bought this one because it has long sleeves; I am 6’1” and they were the perfect length. It’s light and breathable. It doesn’t rub again your chin like other rain jackets with high, stiff collars. Yes, it’s a little bit crinkly when you move but not terrible. If you want a super quiet jacket, don’t buy this one. Overall, happy with this purchase.
