Why We Like The Sawtooth 15 Sleeping Bag

We bring along the Marmot Sawtooth 15 Sleeping Bag for the peace of mind that a good night's rest is safely stuffed in our pack. This sleeping bag's well-rounded design and 15-degree rating make it our go-to, whether we're exploring the jagged peaks of its namesake mountain range or just glamping at our local campgrounds.

The Sawtooth's lightweight construction makes it a solid pick for backpacking trips, while its roomier design and anatomical foot box make it a comfortable option when car camping. Stretch tricot baffles maximize the loft of the 650-fill down insulation to prevent cold air from creeping in on chilly nights.

Excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent bag. I’ve had old version for years and used down to 15 degrees. This updated version seems to be as well made and great size and weight for the warmth rating. Nice that they give you the stuff sack and the storage bag.

Versatility

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven't slept in yet but quality appears to be good. Baffles in the right places and I really like the flexibility offered by the zippered footbox. Definitely not ultralight but fills it's role well.

Completely INACCURATE stats... 3.5 lbs

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this because it said it was under 3 pounds. It is 3.6 It said it comes with a stuff sack... it didn't Couldn't find a hole but came covered in loose down Stuff size says 16x7.5 ... closer to 17.5x8.5 when put into another stuff sack with one vertical cinch strap and 2 diameter since straps. Nownit probably could be smashed smaller and meet the claimed size but looking at the stuff sack thats supposed to come with it.. it wont.

I bought this as a shoulder season bag as I was tired of freezing in my summer bag. Used it for a couple of October nights in RMNP that dipped into upper 20s and was warm. Haven't tried it in colder temps yet. Not as light as some of the more high end bags, but this is a good weight/price option for a down bag.

Nice Wide bag

I can’t wait to get this bag in the cold. My only complaint at this point is I would have liked the zippers to go down lower. To get out of the bag you have to slide up to get your knees out. Also if you are overheating, you can’t poke your legs out.

Excellent Bag

I used this bag for a 10 day through-hike and chose it for the temperature rating, weight, price and compressability. Throughout the trip the temperatures ranged overnight from +1⁰C to -9⁰C(the bags tested limit). I found that if i was a bit too warm I could easily undo one or both of the 2x 2-way zippers allowing more body heat to escape, while on the coldest nights I was more than warm enough with the bag and my silk liner. I personally found that this bag would likely be sufficient for me down to the -15⁰C mark. I will note that along with my silk liner I was uning a good R4.6 self-inflating sleeping pad and a 'just in case' R2.0 closed cell foam pad. The weight of the bag was perfect and it compressed down into my 8L dry compression sack with the silk liner, allowing me to easily store it in the bottom compartment of my pack for easy access at the end of each day while ensuring it stayed dry. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone, the dual zippers on each side, while adding some weight, were a huge benefit for access and temerature regulation.

Great bag!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the double zipper. Plenty of room in the foot without unzipping but that adds even more room
