Fantastic tent
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 3p
I have only used this tent once so far but I'm really happy with it. It's really lightweight and easy to assemble. I love the full fly and it kept everything dry in the rain. The vestibules are fairly large and there's plenty of head room inside the tent. I bought a ground sheet separately. That's the only thing I was disappointed about. It didn't come with the tent. But I have a friend who has used this tent for 8 years now and still loves it.

Solid tent

Good ventilation fits 3 adults nicely and room at or head for some gear. Seems like a good buy for $300

My go to
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Marmot has amazing customer service. I had an issue and they replaced the well used tent at no cost. This is my favorite 3 season tent - and I own 4 others from high-end manufacturers. Well thought-out, large, fast setup, durable in wind (used in ~50mph). It's my go to below tree line.

So far so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have only used it 3 times but so far so good. Seems tough and it kept the water out. It did well in strong winds. We haven’t backpacked with it yet. My girlfriend, two dogs (60 and 80 lbs), and me (6’1” 200 lbs) all fit inside comfortably.

Perfect tent for backpacking
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this tent for backpack camping. Its for two of us. My husband is over 6 feet so we were worried about getting too small of a tent. The tent is perfect for the two of us plus our gear or our dog. Its lightweight and wasy to split the load.

Rating a Tent I have not used...yet
It's Certainly a light weight tent and big enough for two plus some gear. it's a bug net with floor and two doors and a fly. I just got it and it's too cold to use till next year. I did set it up and it's definitely put together well. If weight is your biggest concern I don't know how they can make it any lighter. The seams are taped, the zippers work good, it's New! Hope I can add to this after I have used it.

Very light, spacious, well designed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still new to this tent, but it performed well on the first two outings. It is very light. Excellent room for two and still within a reasonable backpacking weight budget. I purchased the footprint and recommend you do too. We split up with 42oz for the body and fly and 34.5oz for the poles, footprint, stakes, guy cord and repair kit. Fly pitches tightly if you stake out the side between the doors. The vents are a nice feature however I deducted one star because the reinforcement patch on one of them had unraveling stitches on the second setup. I will send it in for warranty repair, which I'm sure Marmot will support, but if the repair lead time is long I may fix this myself. The green strikes me as an odd color - almost faded in the pictures, but in the field it's a pleasant color that blends in well with surroundings without being impossible to see. The fly has bits of reflective material that serve well to guide you back from a late-night bio break. Zippers are fine gauge and somewhat fiddly but I had no problem when the tent is pitched tautly. Setup is quite easy, although I'd strongly prefer if the two main poles were permanently joined at the intersection. The pole clips seem functional but I expect they would break if I accidentally stepped on one I have not yet had it out in the rain, but with the fly pitched fully taut I see no reason to get wet inside. The seam sealing appears to be good quality. It has ample ventilation with the full mesh tent body.

Make the Change to Ultralight!!
Backpacking game changer. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Tungsten... but this will be the tent coming with me for long overnights. The weight is insane, & the parts still feel durable. I purchased the 3 person, but typically only use it for 2 people. It's BIG & spacious, which I love. If you want to save a tiiiiny bit of weight, the 2 person is great too. But I personally love more room to sprawl out in a tent!

Can we get a little technical detail on the fabric for the tent and the fly please? Also why isn't this readily provided. Seems like basic info to include the denier weight, or if it's ripstop, or is it sil nylon, or is it made of perforated unicorns. Thx

Have any of the concerns raised by the negative reviews from 1-2 years ago been addressed yet with re-design, reinforcing seams, better seam tape, etc? Or is the current model exactly the same as it was 2 years ago?
